Skins Sign Reche Caldwell

Give him a couple weeks and you'll probably never see Lloyd on the field again.

Good bargain basement signing. The Skins put Jansen on IR to make room for him. His season is done.

i had had two martinis at this point so i asked her if he every shouted DAGGER in the bedroom with her.

she looked at me kinda strangely and said she had no idea what DAGGER meant.

I like the signing but he's not a longterm solution. And even if Caldwell isn't that good for the Skins, I don't see Lloyd on the roster next year anyway.

I think the Skins will have to draft a WR next April. I'd do it in the first three rounds, have him be the third guy in 2008 and then move Randle El to third WR in 2009 with the youngster starting.

On of the best young receivers in college football today plays right here n he state of Maryland, Darrius Heyward-Bey. Hard to believe he was a freshman last season. He'll probably come out after his junior year. I'd love for us to add him to our roster, but he may be drafted to high for us, wit us coming off of back to back Super Bowl seasons  .

Anyway, I LOVE he pickup of "Bug Eyes" or "Deer-Face" or whatever yo'd like to call him. I know he's probably not a long-term fix, but I bet he gets in the end zone before Llyod does......if Lloyd doesn't get in there Monday night.

I'm just wondering what took us so long to pick him up? I think Caldwell will be a good 5th option on offense.

I'm figuring Joe Gibbs was being on the level when he spoke about how he liked everyone on the current roster. I'm thinking he felt like no one was deserving of being cut to add Caldwell. Picking him up and not having to release anyone, now that's a different story.
I love the pickup though.

I think we waited because signing someone after the first game means that his contract isn't guaranteed.

Yep, you're right, as a vested veteran or whatever, if he signed prior to Week 1, his salary becomes fully guaranteed. So the Skins can cut him tomorrow for example and there wouldn't be a cap hit.

Lloyd only got in when Randle El was dealing with cramps so he's pretty much the 5th wideout at this point. I think we'll probably start to see Caldwell more after the bye week.
