To be Ashamed of being a Laker fan right now? Befor some of you call me a Bandwagon fan let me go over some stuff
I been a Laker fanse sence i was 4 I lived threw the 90's LA Hell. I was there i loved the greats like Eddie Jones and Nick Van. I Cheered during the La Kobe's Era
I took pride in being a Dolphin fan even during there 1 win season.
I lived threw the Dodger Blackout days.
Im still yelling out Yankee pride
LA knows why i root for the Galaxy.

Now back to my statment am i the only one who is ashamed of being a Laker fan or should i just call this team the LA Fakers? cuz they darn sure dont seem like the Lakers to me, I dont mind my team losing even a tuff blow out lost. 1 thing i wont stand for and makes me ashamed of my team not even trying at all. It was pathetic the Fakers will end up winning game 7 even if they do end up winning a ring i find it hard to root for the Fakers. Ill prob just root for players and thats it.

I am a huge fan of Ariza and Shannon Brown they grind they do there best every small chance they get. Those 2 are the only real Lakers i see right now. I know a lot of Kobe fans are gona get on my case for not including him but let me make my case fist.

This is his team he wanted to be the top dog now he has to act like it. Why is it Luke Walton had the galls to tell Phil to bench him so Ariza could start. For as much flak as Luke Walton gets atleast he gots the teams best intress in him at all times its not his fault his talent dosnt meet his contract thats Mitches fault not Lukes.

Kobe really need to take control of this team and make sure scrubs like Fisher aint starting. He also has to start setting the tone like he did in game 5 where he was driving and pounding the post instead of settling for jumpers like in most Fakers lost this year. This LA team should not be in a game 7 vs this pathetic team known as Huston. I cant even say anything to all the Laker haters this Fakers team just makes me put my head down in shame am i the only 1?

well i am as pissed as the next but i will never hang my head down about my team. win lose or draw i am still a laker fan. i want us to win it all this year,but if not guess what i will be here next year. this rox team is playing solid team ball and i for one still think we take game 7,and hopefully this will be used as a reminder. not saying it will but i like to put a positive spin on things. let's just take it one game at a time. just because we are having trouble with this rox team does not mean we will have as much trouble the next two series..

Lol i would never root for another NBA i dont team hop ever. Yes i am really a Fan, but all cuz im a Fan dosnt mean im a blind homer . During this Offseason i was one of the few people supporting the Laker players when everyone kept saying they had to go like Ariza and Gasol, but all cuz of that dosnt mean i cant take this team for what it is. It is pathetic when a team dosnt show up for games. It is a slap in the face to Laker fans and the Purple and Gold for a team just not 2 show up at all for games playing down to there opponents.

Killua one thing is very clear to me, you may think you are a Laker fan, but you definitly are not IMO based on what you wrote.

Houston is playing fantastic, and the Lakers aren't playing any D and they aren't battling as a unit. Hopefully they survive this series, we'll see.

There is no way that I will have anything but love for the Lakers... mad, disappointed, frustrated? Sure, but this is my team.

No one is more pissed off about being drubbed again by a "star-less" Rocket's team than Kobe and the other guys who wear purple & gold... and, hopefully since there are so many people questioning their heart and toughness again, perhaps this will be a turning point in their season.

from what im reading, i think it depends on each individual's interpritation of "ashsamed"....it seems to me that embarassed = ashamaed. If you had no words and an embarassment-smirk on your face everytime a laker hater ran his mouth after that game, then you ware embarassed, ashamed, whatevr you wanna call it. Well I can say this I have been a Raider fan since I can remember. Had Raider pennants on my wall for their Super Bowl wins (yeah lonnnnnnng time ago). I can't stand what management is doing or rather what Al Davis is doing.

Gotta stick with your team and I don't think the OP was saying that he thinks the Lakers are fakers but that it may feel that way. This is just a frustrating time when the Lakers are not performing the way we think they should. What I'm think is this is just a bad matchup for the Lakers.

PG Brooks how many other teams left have a PG as quick as Brooks? None, not Chauncey, not Mo Will, Rondo is close but Brooks is more waterbug quick and we can still put Kobe on Rondo, and Rafer is close but still not at as bad a mismatch for the Lakers.


Rocket frontline this may not make sense but Chuck Hayes may be the worst matchup for Pau. His low center of gravity is preventing Pau from backing his way down at all. I mean Pau can't move this guy. And Hayes is quick enough to block any spin moves baseline.

I'm thinking (hoping really) Pau will be able back Kenyon/Birdman vs the Nuggets, and Varejao/Joe Smith/Ben Wallace. Not having Pau as an option forces all the offense back to Kobe and that leads to the last mismatch.

The Rockets have Battier/Artest. I don't think Shane can guard Kobe one on one except for two things. Kobe settling for 20 ft J's and the great help D the Rockets have. I actually do like Artest on Kobe better because Kobe seems to get around Ron easier.

I don't see any other teams having this combination of players to discombobulate the Lakers in future rounds. Nugz don't have an answer for Kobe and neither do the Cavs unless they put Lebron on him and that hurts their overall defense.

Let's get past the Rockets and pray for a heart transplant and better matchups. Personally before the playoff's I was worried because I thought the Lakers had bad matchups in their bracket. Utah always plays them tough and I knew the Blazers were a bad matchup for the Lakers. I didn't think the Rockets would be as tough an out as they have become.

If the Lakers were matched up vs the Hornets, Mavericks, or Spurs I think the Lakers would have won those series 4-1 at worst. On the positive side this has to be good for the Lakers to go through some heartache and toughen them up......
