Redskins steal Caldwell away from us

Post#1 » by Minhee » Wed Sep 12, 2007 7:03 am

According to ESPN our lifelong rival signed Caldwell as their slot receiver to a one year deal. This kind of sucks for us, I really hope Crayton and Hurd can step up consistently this season. I think everyone upstairs was encouraged by their week 1 performance. I do think defense is a bigger concern anyway, Ferguson being out is going to hurt us more than Glenn's absence.

ESPN.com - Finally filling their need for a veteran No. 3 wide receiver, the Redskins signed free agent Reche Caldwell to a one-year contract on Tuesday, the financial details of which were not immediately available

Just another reason to hate the Skins...

The defense will be fine once Ellis and Newman get back. If Newman had played, no way would Burress and and the Giants been that successful.

at this point why worry about signing another receiver?

with TO and Witten there is proven talent
and Crayton and Hurd showed they an make plays against NYG
still haven't tapped Fasano this year at all either

Wait, if he's all the way up as their #3, what's the bad news here?

I heard we were looking at McCardell at the same time as Caldwell. Idno if anything will come of that. Hed be good for leadership and teaching the young guys, and some spot minutes as a 4th reciever but thats about it.

I'm a bit shocked that anyone would regret not signing Caldwell. He's not exactly produced around the league.
