off-season

Post#1 » by Celts09 » Mon May 18, 2009 3:15 am

Just thought i would start a thread so we can start talking about the off-season.

RESTRICTED
Glen Davis
Leon Powe

UNRESTRICTED
Eddie House (P)
Stephon Marbury
Mikki Moore

out of the 5 seems like Moore is the one thats def. gone.

Powe probably wont be signed by anyone because of his injury and baby is most probably going to be signed back.

I want Davis and Powe back, although I think one would end up being a trade chip.

Eddie House may exercise his option. If so, he returns.

Celtics will probably let Mikki Moore walk,
and sign Semi Erden (in Europe) to his spot.

Celtics will probably re-sign Glen Davis for more than they'd like,
and also re-sign Leon Powe for less than Leon would like
(meaning near minimum for 1 or 2 years).

They will probably trade one of Tony Allen, Bill Walker or J. R. Giddens for a pick or player.

They will also probably decide whether Marbury is coming back, or if they are going to look elsewhere (which obviously means Pruitt or an unexpected 2009 draft pick, perhaps from swapping one of Tony Allen, J. R. Giddens or Bill Walker).

And most important of all,

Sign Rajon Rondo to 5 year extension for 2011 thru 2015 seasons.

Note: Whether Rajon signs an extension or not he will only make $2 million next year, the 4th year of his rookie contract.

-Bring back Marbury on a minimum or close to minimum deal. He's probably not going to get more anyways.
-Hope House takes his player option.
-Bring Powe back on a small short term deal or add a few years to give him added insurance with that knee. Maybe player options.
-Try to bring Davis back, but if it gets pricey, let him go. Anything more than 3-4 or 5 million is way out of his value.
-Bye Mikki.
-If we don't bring Davis back or even if we are trying to, go after Rasheed with the MLE.
-Go after Artest or Marion with the MLE. Might be better to bring Davis back and try to use the MLE on one of these two. Maybe look for possible sign and trade deals using Scal and TA's contracts.

I want Marbury, Powe and Davis back. Steph will be much better after a training camp. Powe is a beast on the block and Davis is Davis. Ih we can't bring Davis or Powe back then we need a PJ Brown type

NONE of this will matter much--if KG's surgery doesn't go well.

Maybe House and Powe come back. Baby can get better money elsewhere. Marbury will play elsewhere. They will let Moore walk.

I have concerns about KG coming back. It seems to me that the surgery he is going to get is tricky. He may never be the same player again.
Reggie stood out like a sore thumb no tattoos no agenda no chirping nothing Just a guy who could score at will He played college ball at Northeastern he replaced Larry as Celtics captain he belonged to Boston.
And I still miss him. Even now.

Bring back
1. Glen Davis.
2. Eddie House
2b. Stephon Marbury
3. Leon Powe

Powe would have been 1 or 1b, but the ACL tear really brings him down. And it's sad, you have to feel bad for the guy. Davis is number one, if these playoffs told me anything, it's big baby is a big time player. Another thing they taught me, Marbury is not done. He isn't, he has some game left in him, and a training camp with these guys could really do well.

C Ya later:
Mikki Moore. LOL.

Newbies:
There are some options. Sheed is supposedly retiring, but if we have the cash, I would love to see him here.

Rumors galore:
Ray Allen. All the trade rumors will continue through the trade deadline.

Should be a fun off-season.

I just don't see the Celtics trading Allen unless Ainge wants to start to rebuild in some way.

Completely forgot in my post:

-Do not, under any circumstance trade Ray, unless it's a package with someone else to make a major move that will obviously improve the team. See where we are with him next year and maybe move his contract at the deadline. We aren't going to get appropriate value back for him to justify removing his experience with the team, it's defense, what he can provide other players mentally and how he can spread the floor.
