Kyle Korver may opt out this offseason..any interest?

Kyle Korver said that he will consider opting out of his contract with the Jazz if he receives interest from other clubs. I haven't checked out his salary or anything but does anyone think the Lakers would be interested in Korver? I think if we can get him for cheap why not? He doesn't play great D but he will absolutely spread the floor and hopefully do what Radman and Ammo (and Vujacic this year) haven't been able to do for us. He would be a good addition FOR THE RIGHT PRICE. Considering the afct that I haven't seen what the man gets paid, I don't know if that's possible. BUT IF IT IS...ARE WE INTERESTED?

I think the Lakers have to focus on retaining Ariza and Odom first... They're in no position to add a significant outside free agent IMO.

So I checked the salaries and Korver makes approx. $5 mill a year. He's in the same range as Derek Fisher, Sasha, Luke, and Ammo. Does anybody know when Morrison's contract is up? Unless we can find a solid backup big or PG, I would definitely consider Korver for $5 mill/yr. Especially if we get rid of Morrison or trade Sasha/Luke for some reason

Korver is a one trick pony and I believe we have enough of them already.

Would be great marketing to get the Ashton Kutcher look-a-like.

he's the same player as Vujacek, cept I'd take him over sasha at this point. Hell I'd take Reddick over Sasha right now. Anyone see how well he played Allen without dumb fouling him like Sasha?

I'm not even convinced Sasha is a great shooter at all anymore, I think last year was the anomale. I know they say he's money in practice but his shot is so flat, even when it goes in it bangs down off the back of the rim. Korver's shot is pure when it goes.

Farmar sorta seems like he might be salvagable. I have my doubts about Sasha. I say trade him for a pick. If we keep Farmar Brown can be that 2 guard role/PG when needed.

i'm sorry but you could never have to many shooters around kobe, pau and drew...
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

Don't get me wrong, re-signing Ariza and Odom is DEFINITELY priority number one this off-season, but someone posted "you never can have too many shooters around kobe pau and bynum" and that's exactly where I was going with this. If you bring in Korver expecting him to play a huge part on your team that's just plain stupid. BUT Laker role players see A LOT of open threes because of the three aforementioned, and shooting threes is this "one trick pony's" one trick...the lakers need to give this guy a look. Obviously Mitch is gonna do what he has to do this summer and LO and ARiza are priority number one but that doesn't mean you should overlook one of the purest shooters in the game if you can get him for a cheap price..(which may be feasible...its not like mr kutcher had a breakout year last year)

When he resigns with Utah with the same amount, I'd trade him for Morrison straight up.
