Bobcats War Room- Second Track - LA Clippers

Welcome to the brand spanking new second track of the WAR ROOM. On second track, I want to explore what teams are going to need out of this draft. At the end of the day, if we can figure out what other teams ahead of us will do... we'll know more about who will fall to us. Plus it gives us a second avenue to discuss possible trades that that team could make.

Remember, the War Room is from the Bobcats perspective, Second Track is from the perspective of the subject team. Let's give this a try.

Trial baloon. No Brainer. Blake Griffin.

The Clippers are a mess. They lose Brand, and the whole team goes up in smoke. Even Baron Davis can't save this team by himself. Options are needed. Blake is a good one. Or excellent trade bait.
Let me ask you this, if you had the one, what would it take to let it go?

For me, that one takes some serious thought.

Hey Augustus,

we are doing a mock draft in the Draft Forum.

It's currently the Bobcats pick at #12.
If you want to come over later and make a pick for the Cats we would appreciate it.
This might be a good way to get an idea of what teams are thinking of doing.

if i'm the clippers... i call david stern and apologize for my existence, offer my players to the rest of the league via waivers, and forfeit the top pick.

but really its a no brainer...

1.pick griffen
2.tell zach randolph to never show is face again.
3.trade baron davis over the summer
4.trade camby over the summer
5.get ready to suck again next year

It's really too bad. It'll break Griffin's spirit to be the only good player on a bunch of suckers. What's worse, he could end up getting tainted by the suckiness of the Staples Arena's "other" tenant.

He should instruct his agent to keep that rookie contract as short as possible. Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadddddddddddddddd!

I think we are in agreement here, but if we need to discuss possible trades, let's bring them back here, okay?
