Why not earl clark? Or Curry.
I like both of them...I actually think Petrie will pick one of Curry, Clark, or Holliday. I dont see him taking Evans.

Re: Enough everyone...
first off, can we please stop thinking about trading the pick?
I just listed the potential options. No need to limit ourselves.
If we wanted to move down, say to #6 or #7, chances are it'd be a straight up package. This draft simply doesn't have any GM interested in trading anything significant for a pick. If Washington is truly desperate about trading their pick then they will set the market price....which seems to simply be cap relief. No one is going to trade multiple picks for the #4, no one is going to trade a superstar for that pick.
Washington's is in a unique situation when compared to teams in the top 5. Washington's mentality is a win now mentality and they were bothered with multiple injuries last season. When healthy, they are a playoff team. So, I don't think Washington's influence of the pick would be heavily.
IMO #4 this year = #12-14 last year.
Think back a year ago.
If a team offered us #12 for #16 & #26 what would you say?
If a team offered us #11 + expiring for Kevin Martin what would you say?
If a team offered us TPE for #12, Kenny what would you say?
How can you determine that? The point is we have to keep our options open. That's all I'm saying.

Again, in order for Petrie to make such a move, he'd need protection from the Maloofs. (This is where I would like to see Maloofs step in, similarly I would have liked to have seen Maloofs step in with our previous coaches and tell them they won't be judged for this year or what not).
haha
Well after all, you are our team outlook guru kind of person

But seriously though, I still think that is a bold and gutsy move from Petrie though if he goes on doing that.

Then you have
#23, Beno
Martin
?
Amare/JT
Hawes
Not a bad start i suppose.
I'm pretty sure he will bolt the hell out if we sucked. But there is a chance he will resign with us IF (and a big IF) we were actually successful in the regular season i.e. playoff birth. But that is highly unlikely. If we go on with the Amare deal, we HAVE to add more pieces to the core to make our selves competitive with the Martin/Amare/Hawes core.

I want to try to deal for Deng. I think he needs a change of scenery and he would fit in here well i think.

Well I followed Deng for a while and lets just say he is no where near the player he was couple of years ago. His longterm contract is horrible. You don't know how much Bulls fans want him gone. They would settle for expiring contracts for Deng

If Petrie thinks he can revert back to his old form, go for it but I don't expect break the bank for him. And I did liked Deng until this year.

Re: Enough everyone...
I am beginning to come around on DeRozan. Why not take a chance on the guy and see if he really can put it all together and be the next TMac or VC? The tools are there, and we have seen flops before (ie. Gerald Green), but what do we really have to lose?
Worst case, we end up right back where we are now except that we end up with the fourth pick in a draft that doesn't have so MASSIVE of a fall off after the first two picks. And who knows, maybe we would be luckier next year.
And Deng scares me. BIg contract and little results thus far in his career. I liked him near the beginning but there are serious question marks about his lack of production.

I think Clark is a bit of a reach but I think Curry will be one of the better players in this entire draft. I wouldn't mind him at 4 at all. Don't forget how big workouts are for Petrie, if we were all able to see what they see we might have different opinions ourselves.
Hate to tell everyone but Petrie has a history of the "safe" pick. I just so happen to think there will be more than a few "safe" picks available that could help us and maybe even turn into a star.
Now trading down to like 10 or below might be the best option. Two guys I'd like to see the Kings go after by either trading down, or trading up are James Johnson and DeJuan Blair.

Curry seem like a VERY realistic choice for Petrie. I swear that kid has Petrie written all over him. However I am still hoping we end up with Evans. I think he has the highest ceiling of anyone besides Rubio or Griffin, and honestly COULD end up a better pro then Rubio.

I wouldnt take Blair that early. I would take him at 23 presuming we already drafted PG. But im not interested in taking on a 6'7 Center in the lotto.

Re: Enough everyone...
I'm not going to bite on Curry. At all. None, whatsoever.
While I think DeNIED's 4=12 from last year argument is very flawed, (I mean, come on. Seriously. No one though Westbrook, or Lopez, for example, would turn out as great as they did. Saying we won't get anything great out of this pick is ridiculous), I also think we need to draft for our need. Unless Harden or Thabeet or Clarke (or Curry, I guess) does something INCREADABLE in camps, we need a point guard. BAD. (And Curry is not a PG. Say no to undersized SGs trying to be a PG).

Re: Enough everyone...
There are certainly a lot of options--trading down included. But its too early to really be able to plan on anything like that--draft positions can change a lot in a month.

He also has BUST written ALL over him.
