Mission Impossible II (Rebuild the Kings)

Post#1 » by deNIEd » Wed May 20, 2009 9:28 pm

Time to rebuild boys and girls.
Here's my plan 1
*Plan to shift around 2010 cap space for 2011 cap space*

Mission Rebuild Sacramento!!

Trade 1 w/ Wash
Darius Songaila, DeShawn Stevenson, 2009 #5, 2009 #33
for
TPE*, 2009 #31, Sac 2010 2nd

*($8.4 mil TPE, created due to Sac being under the cap)

Trade 2 w/ LAC
Zach Randolph, DeAndre Jordan, 2010 Protected 1st*
for
Beno Udrih, Kenny Thomas

*(2010 lotto protected, 2011 top 10 protected, 2012 top 8 protected or 2012 2nd)

Trade 3 w/ Minn**
#4, #23
for
#6, #18

**On draft day, or before, let Minn know at #4 we will draft both Harden, Minn moves up to avoid that**

Draft Day
#5 - DeMar DeRozan
#6 - Jrue Holiday
#18 - DeJuan Blair
#33 - Darren Collison

Post Apocalypse
*Buy Out Randolph Immediately*
*Decline QO on both Diogu and McCants*
*Find a coach*

Sacramento King's 2009/2010 roster
PG: D. Collison/J. Holiday/___________
SG: K. Martin/D. Stevenson/F. Garcia
SF: A. Nocioni/D. DeRozan/D. Greene
PF: J. Thompson/D. Songalia/________
C : S. Hawes/D. Jordan/D. Blair

2010 Picks

The Future!
PG: J. Holiday/D. Collison
SG: K. Martin/________
SF: D. DeRozan/D. Greene
PF: J. Thompson/D. Blair
C : S. Hawes/D. Jordan

I'd rather just take Evans and maybe try and trade up from 23.

Draft Jennings at 4, Hansbrough at 23, BPA at 31

trade with Washington:
Caron Butler/Darius Songaila for Kenny/Cisco

starting line up of Jennings/Martin/Butler/Thompson/Hawes

bench of:
Greene/Noc/Hansbrough/Udrih/31

I'm not sure if Washington is interested in dealing Butler to be honest, but with their cap situation it might be something to look into.

whoa i had a thread just like this too and mine got locked! wtf! haha
alright well heres my idea
why would we plan for 2011 capspace.
do u wanna keep sucking nuts for 2 more years? hell no from me

draft tyreke evans at #4... just watch his value will skyrocket after the workouts because he is athletic as hell
then we trade noc and #23 to atlanta for marvin in a s&t
draft jeff pendergraph at #31
run with:
hawes
thopmson
marvin
martin
evans

let kt expire and work to get more capspace for 2010
then we sign a star and make the playoffs in 2011 instead of rebuilding still
dont you miss when the kings vs. lakers meant somethin...

Murrays was simply another mock draft and smooth your thread is still out there

Anyways, we plan for 2011 because the lineup you posted won't ever be more than a 50 win team and will become a team like Utah. Good enough to make the playoffs each year, miles away from winning a title.

Look at all the quality teams out there. There were only 3 that had a shot at winning a title, Boston, Cleveland and Los Angelos.

Even though next year is early, I'd say only Cle, LAL, Hou have any shot whatsoever at coming close to a title.

Playoffs simply aren't good enough for me. I'd rather wait until we are ready.

I'd much rather preserve our immediate cap space because that could always be a huge asset in a trade scenario over the next 2 years.

I say keep things as liquid as possible and maybe find a few guys who you think could be huge value guys down the road.

Ok let me take a whack at this.....

First, Draft Jordan Hill.

- Kings trade the rights to Jordan Hill, Andres Nocioni, #23 for DJ Augustine, Gerald Wallace, 3 million cash

- Kings then sends the 3 million and Francisco Garcia to Utah for the #20

- Kings then trade Kenny(EC), Beno, for Zack Randolph

NB: I think we should keep Randolph. He can be that beast off the bench for us. And really he hasnt been bad at all for Clips all year except for that punch. But other than that I would really welcome him here.

Draft: #20-Terrence Williams; #31-Nick Calathes

Kings sign Jason Collins, Ryan Hollins, Delfino

Coaching Staff: Westphal, Terry Stotts, Mario Ellie, SAR

Kings New lineup
Hawes/Collins/Hollins
JT/Zbo
Wallace/Delfino/Greene
Kevin/Terrence
DJ/Calathes

My best idea is that washington and minny will both go for james harden to fill their sg holes. minny gives #6 and #18 for #4 in order to beat washington to harden. We draft jennings and we get 2 picks where petrie is the master of in 18 and 23, plus 31. From there darft the best players and at least 1 of them will be solid.

Minny does it because they have tons ofyoung players and can afford one of their 3 1st round picks to get their guy.

we do it since there isnt much of a drop for our needs. and we can get a little risky with an extra pick and maybe get an extra pg so create motivation and competion for the pg spot. This draft has an abundance of pg's and there will be steals in the late first round.

Jennings - (lawson, evans, flynn or best pg at #23), udrich
Martin - Garcia
Nocioni - Dante Cunningham #31
Thompson - Greene
Hawes - Mullins#18

I like the idea of seeing if anybody would trade a nice young PG for Hill.

Eh, I don't see the point honestly, unless there is actually no one petrie wants. I'd much rather take DeRozan or Evans at 4 than the above situation.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.

That's pretty radical but the only move I hate is getting Randolph. I doubt he'll be willing to come off the bench and he plays no D. IMO if we want a similar player we should just us #23 on DeJuan Blair.

He is playing against inferior competition of course but this is the best display of handles I could find.

...and?

Handles are one very small part of being a PG. The guy is ball dominant, not particularly capable as a playmaker for others, and doesn't at all have a PG's mentality. I don't see how he's a PG and especially a PG in our system.

It doesn't matter, Evans is a better overall player. I can't tell anyone how much I HATE Conley. He is, and will always will be disgustingly overrated. He was only good because of Oden, then this year he had mayo and gay to make him look good, and his numbers weren't even astounding. I would seriously punch in a wall if the kings end up getting conley.
