Rubio doesnt like Memphis or OKC

Post#1 » by 4ho5ive » Thu May 21, 2009 4:32 am

“Rubio doesn’t want to go to Memphis, and he especially does not want to pay money out of his own pocket with that huge buyout for the honor of doing so. Fegan [Rubio’s agent] wants him in L.A., and if he can’t have him there, he wants him in Sacramento. Definitely not Oklahoma City. “

Unlike Griffin or Hasheem Thabeet, who don’t really have any choice where they will play next season if a team decides to play hardball, Rubio has a reasonably attractive alternative option at his disposal—returning to Spain.

“He’ll pull out if he doesn’t like what he’s hearing,” the NBA source tells us. “Or he can stay in and force the Grizzlies to call his bluff—would they really take him knowing that he may never come over? That’s one way to get him to fall to three.”

I would laugh, because i joked about this with my best friend yesterday. but if he doesnt like Memphis, whats gonna make him like Minny

A month ago he made a comment about not caring where he went, but maybe that's when he thought his options were DC or California, not knowing how the lottery works.

Does Memphis still draft him and then trade him?

I absolutely hate it when players, especially rooks pull this crap! Are you an NBA player? Then you should be concerned about BASKETBALL, not dictating what city you will and will not go to.

That's a loaded question. Memphis is probably the least desirable city for living that I've ever been to.

I hope they draft him and he stays in Europe, for the love of God, please! If he goes undrafted that means one less guy slips to us,

Or how about OKC just sends #3 and Jeff Green for Blake Griffin and whatever bad contract the Clips want to dump, Randolph or Davis.

1. OKC - Griffin
2. Mem - Thabeet
3. LAC - Rubio

Solves everyone's problems, plus it helps the Clippers clear out salary and get closer to just running with Jordan, Thornton, Gordon, and Rubio, while potentially having max cap room in 2010. Amare or Bosh in LALA catching oops from Rubio? I likey!

Just as long as the Wolves get to choose between Harden and Evans at #6.

Do you really like the idea of Griffin going to the Thunder? That scares me somewhat. I mean i know Jefferson and Love will mash on Griffin + Sene or whoever, but still, the less better they get, the better for us.

Poor Clippers....They need to change their uniforms, Their name ...maybe The LA Scene ...They will allways be second - fiddle in LA. Maybe move to Seattle.

Agreed, I'm just thinking about the good of the NBA and making sure Rubio is playing somewhere on the left side of the pond. Though if Randolph is playing in OKC, he'd do plenty to screw that team up. That's a cancer that's just not cureable.
