i can't enjoy music without vocals unless it's jazz or classical.

Anybody know anything about the Eels? I've never heard of them until I saw something on PBS tonight that was about the Eel's lead singer's father, who was a great physicist.

Okay, I will buy them. I spent all day putting together a new CD rack and I still have a lot of empty space.

I'm going to see the aforementioned M83 at Webster Hall with the wifey in November. Ulrich Schnauss is also playing there next month, if anyone cares.

Locksley and the Black Lips were both pretty cool.

Dear Science by NY band TV on the Radio.

Not as good as their previous LP (Return to Cookie Mountain) which was absolutely fantastic but still one of the best albums of the year so far.

If you don't know them, look for Wolf Like Me (the most catchy song from their previous album) on You Tube. You're gonna like it !

best indie rock band = Minus the Bear. I saw them with Sylvie and the Annuals last night at Starland. Both Sylvie and MTB were awesome, the Annuals.. oh god, they are terrible.

Anything good out lately?

I don't know anything about this band, The Airborne Toxic Event, but I just heard them on Carson Daly and liked the sound of them. Maybe they are not indie since they were on Carson Daly, but I liked it.

I don't know how 'indie' this song is since I think its starting to blow up, but me and my girl woke up one morning to my roommate playing this, and it was just a beautiful moment. Its Bon Iver - Skinny Love.

So if I were to get one Bon Iver CD, which one should it be?

For Emma, Forever Ago. The other one is only a 4-track EP.

Different genre, but I recently got Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde and I can't stop listening to it. Visions of Johanna is possibly my favorite song now. Never thought I would get into Dylan, but his lyrics are so interesting and he had such an impact on what came after.
