Unless we are sure to renounce all own F.A., keeping Childress cap hold is not a problem, it doesn't change anything.
But I would like to see something done, best thing for both the team and Childress would be a sign-&-trade, but right now, is has two years left on his contract, and each year is almost the same than a $13M NBA contract.
I really don't see him coming back before the end of his contract, it's too much of a difference, and he doesn't even pay housing, car,...

That's make him with still a more than "$26M NBA like" contract, so if he comes back this summer, it would have to be for a long term contract, with more guaranteed money than what he already has, unless he is really unhappy in Greece.

I appreciate the due diligence of keeping tabs on players we have the rights on. Doesn't mean that Childress is returning.

As for how he's playing, I know from articles and posts that the fan base of Olympiakos has not been thrilled with him. For his price tag they expected more impact. Examining box scores he's rebounded and had steals at a decent rate. He's converted well around the basket, but his jump shot has been suspect with especially weak long range shooting.

What's amazing to me is the thought that we have no one in management who knows Childress - not Sund and apparently not his scouts. Leastways, we don't have anyone whose opinion Sund respects, concerning Childress.

Are we losing scouts? Do we have scouts? Was BK a one-man team? Is Sund basically the same?

A riot broke out at the game between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos.

wow- I can't believe that Sund is being criticized for doing proper due diligence. Of course the Hawks should be scouting him- they have his rights and they need to know how he is playing since they very well may have to make a decision on him this offseason. It would be incompetent not to send scouts to watch him.

When he still played for us, I used nba hot spots to note that his 3pt FG% was a little decievng since he could only hit them from 2 place on the floor.

Story about the riot

[quote]
But part of the fallout may be that Childress, who scored a team-high 23 points in the loss, is back playing in the NBA sooner than expected.

“The violence we saw today, will make me think real hard over my future in Europe,” he was quoted by the Associated Press. “This did not help the team at all … the moment you play and you have found a rhythm, you can’t stop because (of the violence) in the stands.”

so I guess he still hasn't worked on that god awful looking jumper of his

Sounds like he's still a 6th-7th man at best. He has NBA value, but only at the right price.
