is this thread a HARD CONCEPT for YOU.??

I think you mean WEIGHTED and MEASURED.
and---tom foolery?....only the League can engage in that--NOT the Teams.....Do you think an Owner or GM would be messing around with the balls inside the draft room or something?

They lock these guys in a room with no cell phones....no LIVE tv....and then bring in Secured Balls to replace the Balls that just worked perfectly -----Usually the practice drafts have the FAVORITES WINNING!!

I believe the C's won both the 1997 AND 2007 "PRACTICE DRAFTS"....of course, Stern would have none of this---so, in come the Secured Balls...and you saw what happened.

Exactly, so they lock up the balls before all that security gets there so they can't be tampered with. Read it slow. I know it's tough.

My Biggest Question Remains:
WHY DO THEY CHANGE THE BALLS--??????

I'm sure they change the balls because they have a set that has been weighed and measured and they keep those locked up to prevent teams from engaging in the kind of tom-foolery you're talking about. Is this a hard concept?

sorry man, I thought you were saying that the balls were legit.

But think about it. The lottery would last one minute. That's not a lot of excitement, isn't it? While the actual live show calls out the teams in reverse order, which brings a lot of excitement as everybody knows the order of the seeds and what will happen if a team is not named. For the sake of the draft system, it's more exciting that way it is right now.

The NBA understands that the fans are suspicous and therefore lets Abbott & Co write about the process. But they understand as well that they shouldn't break up their system just for some conspirational theories (that would be still apparent in a real live show... [lotto machine fixed, lotto balls fixed, etc.])

The city of Los Angeles is having a big financial problem, and the Clippers get the number 1 pick. I'm pulling for the Clippers and would like to see them play well, but does anyone else find that odd?

Run it just like a state lottery except its weighted. At the last minute the lottery teams should submit their lottery tickets with their guesses. The 3 teams with the worst record can have 5 guesses, the next 3 teams can have 4 guesses, the next 3 can have 3, the last 4 can have 1 guess. The official balls are already loaded and the machine right out front with the NBA's top rated cheerleader/dancer/whatever. If there's a tie, then have run off between the tied teams. Of course keep the numbers real simple. 13 numbers for the first pick, then 12 for the next, then so on. It may take longer (a whole hour?) but that's about how long they make us wait through their crappy draft lottery show anyways and I'd rather see it run off live instead of just handing out envelopes. If a $200+ million dollar state or multi-state lottery can be shown live in a matter of fact way, then why not this?
