Thompson, #23, future 1st, and Thomas for Rubio and Jaric.

REALITY CHECK: Dan Fegan does NOT want Rubio to play for Memphis.

There are plenty of Spanish fans who are calling it BS, and some of them have been following the Grizzlies since Pau's rookie year here.

So I'd tell you to get your facts straight, but you don't have any to straighten.

Exactly. Where is the quote coming from Rubio saying that he doesn't want to play for Memphis? People haven't brought that one to my attention yet.

or maybe he's just bluffing so that he'd not pay anything from his pocket. Think about it? Why don't he play with his fellow spaniard, marc gasol?

Or substitute Jordan Hill in for Thompson. Either way, the future 1st would put the kings out of the running.

The trade is either:

Hill or Thompson / 23/ possibly swap 2nd round picks for Rubio.

#4/#23/Thomas for #2/Jaric/rights to switch picks with Kings in 2010 (top 3 protected) would be as far as the Kings would go. Anything else would be EXTREMELY overpaying.

Well then, Sacramento is not moving up.

And so if Rubio declares that he doesn't want to be in Memphis, and the Grizzles are confident with Conley as their starting PG, what do you see teams offering Memphis? Amare? LeBron? Cmon. You can't trade damaged good and expect to get fair market value, especially when its only 2 spots in the draft.

Well in an SI article, it seems the real issue is Mike Conley. If that's all, then we should be welcoming Blond Ricky.
