What is the least you would trade the #2 to Portland.

What is the least you could see tradeing the #2 to Portland?

#2 and Darko for Portland's first, a second rounder or two, Outlaw and Bayless/Serg

What is the least you would trade the #2 to Portland.

Portland fan, love your team's future, love Marc Gasol what a stud, I'm hearing alot of chatter about your pick and was wondering what intrest you guys might have in a trade with Portland. I know that tradeing the 2 to Portland wouldn't be popular, but if the Grizz decided to entertain offers what is the most realistic trade, and what would you think if they did it.
I'm curious, it seems that Conley is your pg of the future but you need a backup, would like to save money and get id of Darko, correct? Any of these offers sound okay? I know they are not sexy but Bayless would be top ten pick this year and could be the backup your looking for, Sergio would be a decent backup as well, and Outlaw is a local that just keeps killing everytime he plays you guys, he's also a good kid and great sixthman, but we have too many sf.
I think Portland would give their first, a couple of second rounders Outlaw Bayless/Sergio whichever you want, a future first and cash for the #2, and you could probably get them to eat Darko's contract. Thoughts?

Don't see it happening without at the very least a member of the "core" being involved.

Kinda OT, but is there a team option on Buckner's contract this summer? I seem to remember there was, but couldn't find any source to confirm it.

Yes there is. $2 million dollar buy out - $1 million against cap this year and next - so essentially an expiring deal.

OK, thanks...so it could still save you some money to include him in a trade, right?

Yeah - but the Grizz are pretty much beyond saving cash. Understand, they will begin the season with a team salary closer to the minimum than the cap. There is a greater chance that Buckner and Darko will be used to obtain talent than to save $'s.

Aren't you going to sign a PF like Big Baby or Villanueva? maybe even Milsap...

Meh, I think your front office strongly considers and quite possibly accepts a LA for Conley deal considering your need for a big man at the moment but I agree with the premise of your argument that it would probably take more from Portland than most Portland fans are willing to accept. Maybe not Roy, but still quite a bit.

I had to read this thread becuase I loved the title What is the least you would trade the #2 ROFL, like we should consider lesser offers because it's Portland? We are sorry about the Darius Miles thing but if it wasn't us, it would have been someone else.

Portland is and will be very good going forward so any comination of future draft picks is not anything special.

The players you name: Outlaw, Bayless Rodriguez, are nice players but are all spare parts and none will start for Memphis either. There is no value for Memphis in what you propose.

Darko is an expiring contract so the comment "Take his contract off your hands" is almost as funny as the thread title.

Rubio will be a talent in this league and has value. I beleive you would have a better chance of prying Mike Conley away for what you purpose instead of the #2 overall.

I'm a Portland fan and even I know it would take LaMarcus Aldridge type talent to prise the number 2 pick away from Memphis. And I can't imagine any scenario where 'Baby Sheed' is going anywhere unless it was for an all-star type talent, not a rookie with an unknown (albeit probably very high) level of talent.

I would love to build around a core of Mayo, Aldridge, Gasol2.0.

So figure out a deal that nets the Griz:
Aldridge
starting caliber SF (deadly accurate from outside and great defense)
starting caliber SG (long)
for
Conley, #2, Gay

so you really think Mayo can be your PG of the future?
If not, what's the point of giving away Conley and Rubio?

your deal would look like this with Portland:
Aldridge, Outlaw/Martell, Rudy
for
Conley, Rubio, Gay

That's terrible for both teams. Especially for Portland.

Oden/Przy
Frye?/Outlaw?
Gay/Batum/Outlaw or Webster
Roy/Bayless
Rubio/Conley/Bayless/Blake?/Sergio?

that would leave us with no PF, two young and talented PGs who won't be content with splitting playing time + Bayless, Blake (if we don't cut him) and Sergio still on the team and a similar situation at SF with Gay, Batum, Webster/Outlaw.

I can see us doing that, but would Portland give up LA for Conley?

I'm pretty sure he meant Rubio, not Conley.
