Right-hander Casey Janssen and infielder Joe Inglett have been recalled from the Minors by the Blue Jays, who also made plans to bring back Ricky Romero for their return to intraleague play next week.
Janssen, who spent all of last year recovering from surgery for a torn labrum, rejoins Toronto after posting a combined ERA of 0.76 in five starts between Class A Dunedin and Double-A New Hampshire.
He last appeared with the Blue Jays in 2007, posting a 2.35 ERA in 70 relief appearances. Janssen, 27, is scheduled to start Saturday's Interleague game in Atlanta against the Braves.
Inglett was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas, where a hamstring injury had limited him to seven games. In 109 games with Toronto last season, he hit .297 with three homers and 39 RBIs.
Additionally, the Blue Jays will add Romero prior to a start already scheduled for him on Tuesday in Baltimore. Romero's maiden big league season was off to a 2-0 start, with a 1.71 ERA, prior to straining an oblique muscle. His Minor League rehab consisted of three starts at three different levels, during which he was 0-1 with a 6.91 combined ERA.
