It wasn't Berri. I'd really like to know who could have possibly thought that.

Berri had him in the middle of the pack. Ty further broke out Berri type numbers that further panned Alexander.

You may be thinking of the fact Joe rated #1 in the overall athleticism tests at the combine (as did David Noel two years prior)

instead of comparing him to other point guards in the league, let's compare him to the rookies in the upcoming draft. would you rather have sessions at a 5-yr, $30-40 million contract, or holiday/lawson/jennings/maynor (whichever rookie pg you think will be there at #10) at 5-yr, $15 million?

What was Redd's contract from the Mavs that we matched? Sessions should get that.

Does Berri even do winscores for college? I think someone else from some draft website extrapolates the numbers and puts them on his blog, but I don't think Berri deals with college. And I want to say that JA's winscores projected him as bad either way.

I think Hollinger on the other hand showed stats that projected JA as more productive than Iguodala.

It appears that Luke has been and will be overpaid. How can you say Ramon is worth $8 million per because Luke is overpaid? :wavefinger:

Luke Ridnour is overpaid by about 4 million dollars per year though, he is making what Sessions should be making. Do not compound mistakes by giving players more money based off of what other players on your team are making.

Michael Redd makes, what, 17-18 million next season? Does that mean that LeBron deserves 40 since he is twice as good? No, just because one guy is overpaid, don't go insane on another guy.

Sessions is a talented young player, but he hasn't earned a big time contract... He hasn't accomplished nearly as much as Mo Williams did before he got his deal.

I like the comparison of the Jameer Nelson contract, that is about what he is worth... And I think it should be a three year deal for both Sessions benefit and our franchises. If Sessions turns out to be as good as some believe, he can get his big money then... If he turns out to just be a solid PG, we can extend him a reasonable offer.

+1

You're blatantly out of touch with today's NBA salaries if you think 6 is too much.

Luke, I think you are out of touch on this one. I have alway thought the MLE was reserved for veteran players. How can you justify giving him this exemption when this guy has barely 1 1/4 years of experience in the NBA?

Why? What has Sessions done? I believe you whine about our salary situation as much as anyone yet you wanna throw huge dollars at Sessions. That's exactly how we got in this mess.

 Someone with some common sense!

PP is right ...and not only is he right about the economy ...But whats even more important is their is rumblings about having non guarenteed contracts in pro ball .

the bucks would be STUPID to put more then 3 years out their for sessions during a time when the entire landscape of nba contracts may be changing . Im sure hammond has heard the rumblings as well and hes not going to commit mo williams type money to ramon freaken sessions .

9-10 millon as the original poster suggested ( LUKE23 ) ...is just flat out ignorant . Its not happening and time will show that very soon .

Sessions will be coming in at 14 mil over 3 years and the bucks WILL NOT be matching .. You heard it here first .. by the way , we will all see over time that this guy wasnt the pg many of you thought he was ..

I'll wager posting rights forever vs. your posting rights forever that the Bucks would match 3/14. Let me know if you'd like to take the wager. Since you seem so confident I'm assuming you will.

Put your money where your mouth is.

How about we do a month ..

way it works is if the bucks match an offer the same or MORE i dont post for a month .

make it even and say 5 mil per over any amount of years .. 3for15 w/e it is ....bucks will not bring sessions back for 5 millon per year on ANY amount of years . Id bet it all day

if ramon walks for the same or LESS we dont read you for one month ....

LUKE23 wrote:Just thought I'd see what the limit would be for people if you were Hammond, in terms of Sessions RFA. Lets say he gets a 4 or 5 year deal. Assume we have the space to make it happen.

My cap would be anything $9M per year or less. I know many will say that is high, but it's slightly over what a starting PG makes per year in the league, on average, as of 2008-09.
That is absurd  ...Sessions is not a starting PG. Please stop paying these backup type players big money! That is our problem now...

You need to give that money to Charlie :tooth Villanueva and let Sessions walk if that figure does not come way down...

Do not :wavefinger: judge his value with those of other point guards in this league...just yet. :noway:
