Memphis only option for Z-Bo trade?

Post#1 » by klemen4 » Fri May 22, 2009 3:00 am

Hi LAC fans,

First congrats on Griffin!

Now to the point...I think you need to move Randolpf to make room for Griffin also to get potential bad influence of Zack away. I looked all over the league and I think Memphis is the only team you can trade with.

Randolph for Jarič/Buckner

I know 2bad players, but ...owner saves a few millions: 4,5 in 2010 and 4,3 in 2011 and at leat Jarič can be used.

Your opinion?

It's pretty good, LAC dumps Zbo while getting a vet back-up PG. I think the Grizzlies would have to add a bit more though, maybe a prospect or something.

I would do it as is. Jaric is another guy who can defend three positions and handle the ball just like Collins. I don't mind him coming off the bench. Buckner is expiring and a defensive specialist. I'd be pleased even if this is the best the Clips can do for Randolph.

I was messing around and how about we ship him to Cleveland for Ben Wallace and maybe a filler? That way the Cavs get another real low post threat that can get 20 ppg along with LeBron and we get a big that actually plays defense plus he is an expiring.

I don't know that the Cavs want to add a defensively-deficient PF to their lineup.

They should keep Z Bo. Most teams don't have a true center, so you can get away with playing two 4s

I would like the Clippers to trade Zach for a small forward such as Deng, Prince, Maggette, or Richard Jefferson.

I prefer Prince or Jefferson because they only have 2 years remaining on their contracts.

Yeah you won't get any of those SF's for Zbo unless you add your shiny new pick.

I could see Bulls doing a Deng trade. He seems injury prone and they already have a better 3 in Salmons

I'd rather make it Randolph for Milicic, Jaric and Darrell Arthur. Clippers save a year in contract length by adding Milicic instead of Buckner and get a young prospect in Arthur.

Consider Golden State.

They are anxious to unload Crawford & Maggette

Take those 2 & they will almost certainly take randolph. Crawford & Maggette are approx $18 million & Zbo is $16 million. That matches within 25%

This wouldn't happen, Maggette's contract is too long and Dunleavy and Maggette didn't get along when he was here. The Clippers would keep Randolph for two years before making a Crawford/Maggette trade.

There's no way Memphis adds Arthur in the trade.

I'd just do Z-Bo for the two big contracts and maybe add a second round pick. That's enough incentive for me to do it.

I like Randolph for Dark and Jaric. We know Jaric would love to be back in LA with his wife before she has their baby. Darko comes off the books after this year. It makes it easier to use Camby (or even Darko I think) as trade bait come the Trade deadline later on in the season. Plus we get rid of Randolph and make room for Griffin and we get a decent back-up who can play many positions. Memphis gets a low post scorer to go with Gay and May and whoever they pick. Biggest problem I see is Memphis will want our #1 pick (which they should never get) and they may not be trade likely.

^^
If Memphis asks for the #1 pick in such a trade you're just ending the conersation with a big laugh and that's it.
This trade would basically be our trash for their's and i doubt that any one in their right mind would/should ask for the #1 pick on top of it.

Z-Bo for Darko/Jaric

or

Z-Bo/future MIN first for Jaric

works for me.

I like the first trade, but not the second one because of the Minny pick. The pick is only protected 2 more years and the TWolves aren't likely to get that much help at #6 and #18 in this draft.

Chicago Trades: Brad Miller
Chicago Receives: Jamal Crawford & Brendan Wright

Golden State Trades: Jamal Crawford, Corey Maggette & Brendan Wright
Golden State Receives: Zach Randolph

L.A. Clippers Trades: Zach Randolph
L.A. Clippers Receives: Corey Maggette & Brad Miller

I would be happy with a deal like that. Then trade Chris Kaman for Jason Terry straight-up followed.

How about Camby and Zach for Jermaine O'Neal?
