Allen Iverson

Post#1 » by big3_8_19_21 » Sun May 24, 2009 7:45 am

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/w ... index.html

Great article about the demise of Allen Iverson's so called basketball career.

Also, when the writer questioned who would actually sign him this summer...I unfortunately thought the Timberwolves. Now I HATE Allen Iverson. I think it's a travesty that he ever won an MVP trophy and I would NEVER want him on the Timberwolves...but we need a PG (though he should never play PG...or basketball)...Iverson demands to start and won't take a complimentary role with a contender and the Wolves are desperate to sell tickets. I pray that I NEVER have to see Iverson in a Wolves uni, but I was just thinking that hypothetically...it really could happen. Who else would sign that turd?

I think Charlotte, San Antonio or Houston might be some teams that sign him

If he didn't want cash for jack, I'd consider signing him. Maybe he could show some of our guards, (Foye, DeRozenm Bassy) how to score and finish plays.

I can see Allen Iverson going back with Larry Brown in Charlotte as well...

I would try Iverson if he'd sign for something around the MLE - but I guess that is not going to be enough to bring him to Minny and he is not worth more than that IMO.

if he were to come to Minnesota, it would be for too much money... so I hope we don't get him.

Two years too late. We should use the SG minutes to develop a younger player.

Allen Iverson would be worse than the worst case scenario. He's a couple steps slow, under-sized, and demands to be THE MAN. No thanks.

Trust me, I fully agree, I DESPISE Allen Iverson. I was just tossing out a worst case scenario and why it could actually happen.

Oh I know. But if you take out every other word of your post, rearrange some of the letters, and drink the kool-aid, your post said, and I quote...

"Allen Iverson is the second coming of LeBron James. We should get him in a sign and trade for a max deal." I just disagree with that stance.

Oh and I didn't win the lottery for those of you wondering. :-) Of course I wouldn't be posting here if I did win. I'd be out getting chicks. Lots and lots of chicks. So that when they get older I could start my own egg farm and have scrambled eggs whenever I want.

OH MY GOD! I didn't even realize what I was really saying...

Trust me, the problem isn't the numbers, the problem must be you. The numbers NEVER fail (except during the '04 WCF...but who's keeping track?)

He would be horrible for a rebuilding team. Plus he would probably only come to Minny for an Arenas or Lewis sized contract anyway lol.

I don't think anyone has said anything differently than that yet. We're discussing why that travesty could happen. Actually I'd take out the "for a rebuilding team" part. Iverson is just horrible.

Maybe if Isiah Thomas was hired instead of Khan?
