OT: OTL Profile on Mobley's health and retirement

Post#1 » by mkwest » Mon May 25, 2009 3:29 am

The main thing that was said is that his heart condition had not worsened even though that is what was reported. Mobley decided to put his family (lil' Cat) first and acknowledged that continuing to play wasn't worth the risk at his age.

Cat made the right decision and I'll always appreciate him for his heart(no pun intended) and hustle from 05-08.

Interesting video.
You can only wish Mobley all the best for the future.
Quite the bone-chilling risk he took for all those years, though.
The league and the teams come off looking pretty sleazy.

I saw a few snippets of it. Apparently he knew he had the condition since way back, when he was with the Rockets. Dangerous for him to do that and really, it's an odd/weird situation for him to handle.

I think that Mobley is very fortunate that nothing happened with him and his heart over his NBA career. I'm glad that he is still alive today and that nothing happened to him. I appreciate what he has done for our team and he was a big reason why we went to the playoffs in 2006.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!
