Houston wouldn't consider that at all.

It's offical: Yao Ming will be a member of the Cavs

Post#23 » by dunleavyjr » Mon May 25, 2009 4:02 am

Chinese business man has officially become the minority owner of the Cavs.

You folks know what this means: Yao will be a member of the Cavs, which translates into
LeBron's staying with the team.

2010:

PG - Mo William
SG - LeBron James
SF - Pavolvic
PF - Varejao
C - Yao

:D Like Z never had injury....

Yao puts a handcuff on Dwight every time they meet.
D12 always gets owned by him.

So how do the Cavs acquire Yao again?

Their best young prospect (Hickson) plays the position that Houston has the most depth at... I'll tell you what though if you'd like I'll call up Rod Thorn and maybe we can work out a Yi Jianlian for ANYTHING trade.

LEBRON and YAO = SHAQ and KOBE

Cleveland could gut the team and get a big 2 or 3 of their own... thats what I would do if Cleveland falls

trade the house, the sink the future picks and get YAO, AMARE and 2 young 3 point shooters that cost peanuts... for everyone not name CHOSEN 1 (yes CHOSEN 2.. even you)
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Since Houston drafted Yao cant they match anything that the Cavs offer?
My 2 cents is worth 5 cents.

Not to be funny but even if you wanted Yao Ming, you guys don't have the pieces to get him. I don't see the rockets taking a package involving Big Z, Delonte West, Wally, Mo Williams, Sasha, or AV for Yao. Sorry to burst you bubble.

Yao would contain D.Howard. You're kidding yourself if you don't think a healthy Yao wouldn't have made the difference against the Magic.

Well since D12 just manhandled the cav's big men this should be a serious convo now. We all know that Yao isn't the most durable but a gamble is a gamble, besides Danny Ferry hasn't got much time left until Lebron walks out forever.

After the loss to the Magic, LeBron was extremely quiet, in a scary way.
Normally, members of loser team would offer congrats to the Magic.
As captain of the Cavs, LeBron just walked off court without doing anything.

LeBron's heart is hurting bad. He is extremely disappointed at his teammates.
Yup, this series was a 1-man show from LeBron of the Cavs. Guy needed help
in containing D12. Nobody stepped up.

LeBron is ready to walk out of Cleveland. To change his mind? Yao to the Cavs
it is.

The question is, is Danny Ferry willing to trade big Z to the Rockets for Yao?

For all this talk of the team improving, are we really any better than when we lost to the Spurs two years ago. We have actually finished worse each consecutive year since. I think this series was eye opening as to how far the Cavs still have to go. When the Cavs did nothing at the trade deadline I said that the Cavs had lost the championship. Unfortunately, I couldn't have been more correct. I think Lebron for the first time is taking a hard look at this team and thinking that maybe he might not be able to win with these guys.

Ths team keeps locking players such as Z, Pavolvic, and Verejao into bad contracts when looking at their production. Ferry needs to do a better job this off-season or else there will be no Lebron James in Cleveland. It will be difficult with Z and Varejao likley to resign although if Ben Wallace did retire that would free up some caps space. We really need a Pau Gasol type deal to come our way.

Yao is a top tier center that any team would have to covet at the right price. Yao would make the Cavs a very tough team to beat. His injury issues are not a minor consideration, but he also has tremendous upside. I think that it would be foolish to dismiss him, just as it would be foolish to think that the Cavs have any realistic chance of obtaining him.

If you were somehow were able to land Yao (and I don't know how), you could limit Yao's minutes and keep him healthy for the postseason. I think Yao will get more summers off going forward too, which should help with his health.

But this seems like a moot point, there's no trade and no chance via FA either, right?
