O'Connor's 10th offseason

Post#1 » by DelaneyRudd » Sun May 24, 2009 3:44 pm

Hard to belive in a few months KOC will be celebrating his 10th year with the Jazz. Read in the paper today his first move ever for the Jazz was signing Officer Polynice. What has been his biggest hits and biggest misses? Is there a chronological order of every personnel decision he has ever made?

Read Gordon Monsons column in the Salt Lake Tribune today and it has all that in there.

I think his best trade was for Donyell Marshall. His best picks were Dwill, Millsap, and Brewer. His best signings were Boozer and Okur.

His worst moves were not matching the $1.5M per year to Mo Williams, Drafting Raul Lopez over T. Parker, and drafting Kris Humphries and Snyder when Al Jefferson, Josh Smith, and JR Smith were all still on the board.

I agree with Monson that he has been good and bad and a bit conservative. This offseason he needs to be at his best and he needs to take a chance.

I think he needs to find a taker for Ak. Reup both Boozer and Milsap and sign and trade Okur for Okafor, Kaman or another athletic big who can defend.

I like an Ak for Maggette and parts swap, or AK for Ray Allen.

I like a sign and trade of Okur for Okafor and our NY pick, or just send him to LA for Kaman.

But the risky decision will be to let Okur go, to get a big man. Okur will accept a sign and trade because there will not be much else out there for him.

I did read it. I linked it above. I prefer lists. I'm visual that way.

A good read. I dig Monson, it seems like he's not favorable of KOC though, reading through all of KOC's moves, it puts him in a pretty mediocre light, but it could be worse.

Reports continue to insist Bulls are willing to parting ways with players like TThomas if it means a trade for players like Boozer or Bosh. Let's see if KOC's aggressiveness arises this time... deal Boozer for TThomas and Hinrich man! Pick up the phone right now!

Gordon Monson is notoriously down on anyone in the Jazz front office. He seems to relish the devil's advocate role. Whether or not he has good points, his act gets very tired. I heard he had O'Connor on his radio show and had a pretty acidic conversation with him then too. I'm actually surprised KOC still bothers to appear on his show.

lol not much else out there for him? really? c'mon if okur leaves utah he would have plenty of willing suitors. Especially his old team the pistons.
