I think the impact of the Celtics in the upcoming draft will be minor. Maybe we get a 2nd pick and stash him in Europe but we won't get a player for our roster.

If Ainge is going to pull off some miracle that gets us back into the first round, draft Ray's eventual replacement: Wayne Ellington, UNC

So, we've no interest in Mullens to Ainge could use the draft for another young point guard or another young shooting guard. Again, I wasn't making a big deal of or necessary a push for Mullens. It was just an idea that evidently no one here likes.

Besides, Rivers made a call for more veteran help. That thinking should apply for whoever the next backup point guard, center and small forward and/or shooting guard is that's signed (or traded for), hopefully, this off-season.

Well I'm not sure what we do to get into the draft. But if we are looking at another young PG, I respectfully point out that Jrue Holiday won the Gatorade HS POY award in 2008 (following in the footsteps of Kevin Love, Greg Oden, Dwight Howard, Lebron James). And he didn't turn 18 until after HS graduation, making him younger than many in his class...

Throughout high school he purportedly was unselfish and had a strong work ethic. And yet, whereas before the age limit I assume that he is easily a lottery pick last season, he finds himself projected as a late first round pick after a disappointing (but respectable) season as an 18 year old PG on an okay college team playing against solid competition

The difference between Thabeet and Mullens is 3 years I wouldn't want to risk my job on either one. There is little value in a guy like Mullens for a team like Boston or for any team at that he should be a second round pick but the lack of any size in this draft will likely get him a guaranteed contract but I don't think he is even close to as good a player as O'Bryant was coming into this draft, he reminds me off a soft Chris Mihm.

One guy I would like to see them trade up for in the 2nd round is Josh Heytvelt, that kid has a game if also a truck full of baggage.

Return to Boston Celtics
