Re: New GM a Team Transactions Thread
The Heat and Hornets have a big one to announce...
Tim Duncan, Mike Miller, Leon Powe, and Royal Ivey
for
David West, Josh Howard, Brendan Haywood, and Rasual Butler
West 9.1
Howard10.9
Haywood 6.0
Butler 3.9
29.9
Duncan 22.2
Miller 9.9
Powe 2.2
Ivey 1.0
35.3
salaries match
New Orleans accepts.
It was a HUGE decision to part with Duncan because we really liked his fit with Roy, but ultimately we decided to heed the calls of our owner to maximize talent and stay cap-friendly. We considered several deals for Duncan, but after literally weeks of talks with Miami, we settled on this deal as the best for both sides. We wish Tim the best in Miami wouldn't want to run into him and Mr. Wade in the playoffs.

Miami accepts. We have to part with a number of talented players, but simply cannot give up the chance of pairing Duncan and Wade. Miller and Powe will help keep our rotation solid also.

Re: New GM a Team Transactions Thread
Orlando and Washington have come to a deal:
Trade 1
Gortat ($4.2M) for TPE (from Miami, $4.5M)
Trade 2
Anthony Johnson $2.1M
Courtney Lee $1.2M
2010 unprotected 1st Rounder (ORL)
for
Andray Blatche $3M
Wizards accept. This was just the amount of talent I needed coming back to make a Blatche deal happen. I have an excess of young bigs, and this deal nabbed me a legit wing prospect and a first rounder.

Re: New GM a Team Transactions Thread
Washington and New Jersey have also come to an agreement:
Washington outgoing:
Marcin Gortat $2.12M
Washington incoming:
Josh Boone $2.06M
New Jersey outgoing:
Josh Boone $2.06M
New Jersey incoming:
Marcin Gortat $4.25
New Jersey is under the cap.
Wizards accept. I love Gortat's potential as athletic young C in the future, but I can't afford that contract on my books. Boone is pretty talented guy as long as he doesn't have to shoot FTs.

Nets accept. Happy to have Gortat, whom we tried to get in free agency, and willing to pay the price of giving up Boone to get him.

Re: New GM a Team Transactions Thread
Orlando accepts
We needed a PF that would be a nice fit next to Dwight as well as a deal for one that wouldn't put us past our projected/needed salary amount to nab a max contract FA in 2010.
We hate to lose our young SG and to a much lesser extent our 2010 pick/Gortat but Blatche is exactly what we were looking for and we are very happy to welcome him to Orlando.

Waiting on Phoenix to accept

New Jersey and New Orleans have a trade that involves a few players and some awfully complicated pick protections.
NJ in / NO out
Luis Scola $3,284,667
Ian Mahinmi $899,700
Total salaries $4,184,367
for
Ryan Anderson $1,317,120
Jarvis Hayes $2,062,800
2010 Dallas 1st Round Pick (Top Ten Protected; in the event that the DAL pick falls in the top ten, NOH receives instead a lottery protected NJN 2010 1st round pick. In the event that the 2010 NJ pick is also in the lottery, NOH receives NJN 2011 1st and a NJN 2010 2nd round pick.)
Total salaries $3,379,920
Numbers work, but it doesn't matter - NJ has plenty of cap space
Nets accept. Scola is just the kind of veteran we want to add to this very young team.

New Orleans accepts. With the signing of Lamar Odom and Chris Wilcox, Scola was a piece we decided to move. We're high on the 21yo Anderson's potential as a sweet shooting four and we like Hayes ability to be an all-around role player for us. The 2010 1st Round Pick presents us with another nice opportunity to infuse some more young talent into our core.

Re: New GM a Team Transactions Thread
The Toronto Raptors and the Philadelphia 76ers have agreed on a deal:
Raptors Trade:
Kris Humphries $2,900,000
Jason Kapono $6,212,960
Allen Iverson $5,848,000
Total: $14,960,960 x 1.25 = $18,701,200 > $16,452,000
76ers Trade:
Andrei Kirilenko $16,452,000
The Raptors agree. Basically I needed to clear up some roster room by getting rid of Kapono and Humphries. AI will be missed but I think I can get a PG easily. AK-47 brings lock down defense and as well as versatility.

accepted. We break kirilenko's deal into 3 smaller parts. We plan on starting A.I. at the 2 neext to kidd, giving him the best back court partner hes ever had. Hope this plan works out. Its a risk with high reward. Good dealing.

Minnesota and Golden State have announced a deal
Golden State will send
Gay ($3,280,997)
Wright ($2,671,440)
Marrow ($736,420)
to Minnesota for
Love ($3,401,040)
Ellington ($1,039,800)
D.James ($457,588)
Boston 2010 1st (top 10 protected, unprotected in 2011)
Minnesota is very sad to trade away a young double double stud in Love and a guy we think was the steal of the 2009 draft in Ellington but are thrilled to add a 2nd scoring option in Gay and like the upside of Wright. Our team should be set now. We are under the cap so the extra incoming money would still work

The Golden State Warriors accept and are delighted to add Kevin Love and Wayne Ellington to our core. We also feel that the Boston pick will end up being valuable.
