this board needs some level of moderation contests

Post#1 » by SuigintouEV » Sat May 23, 2009 8:48 pm

I'm not saying "I know more than Mods do" but do mods even read threads before they close them? I just made a thread on the General Board, spent like half an hour doing research and backing it up with evidence, and there's nothing I can do about the fact that it was closed for no reason whatsoever (the closest being that the title of the thread might have been SLIGHTLY misleading??)

I'm not trying to rant, but is realGM ever going to have.. ya know.. an ability to contest moderations (like maybe, two contests earned every year or something?) the fact that I can't even PM a mod is ridiculous as it is.

SuigintouEV,

We are working on bringing the user to moderator PM's back.

If you link to the thread in question here, I'll ask the board's moderators here and explain to you why the thread was locked.

Not sure who locked it, but most of the time some threads that CAN be discussed within existing threads (that are very blatant, not saying you didn't see the boards 1st to see if there was a thread on the 1st page dealing w/LeBron to put this in), are locked, but most of the time a reason is always given. I'm sure with the excess of the amount of threads following the results of the game that night, a mod might have forgotten to give a reason.

LOL. You basically said it was a great shot. That does not deserve it's own thread. Maybe if you used the video to say the shot shouldn't have counted, because he wouldn't have got the shot off in time, had they started the clock as soon as he touched the ball--then that would deserve it's own thread, maybe.

This is a stupid thread too. You're really 0 for 2.

sad thing about realgm is the mods in the team forums, i mean this is such a cool site for basketball nuts like me. but then you have the little hitlers on the bucks and cavs forums, that take away all personal freedoms this country was founded on, its sad. and i am not talking using profanity or being abusive, those things should be modded.
a while back i caught micky davis trollling other boards and yet he has a strict no trolling policy, when i pointed that out he immediately removed my post and banned me. hey now there is no misuse of power ther is there?

do i detect sarcasm? a board where the mods buddies can say whatever they want and the opposition to to the buddy crowd gets suspended and banned is not right no matter how popular that board is. i know there are a lot of die hard bucks/basketball fans in Wisconsin....i am one of them. have never liked a dictatorship though, call me crazy.

No sarcasm. I visit the bucks board sometimes and it can be pretty frustrating to try to read through it. I agree with you.

MickeyDavis is a very good Moderator who has built a great Wisconsin community and I also like the moderators on the Cavs forum.

All 170 plus Moderators on staff are great people and wonderful to work with.

If anyone has an issue with any Moderator though, you can address it with me as I am in charge of the staff. Howard@realgm.com

I do stand behind the moderator staff though and am happy to answer any questions users may have.

you have a fine web site here and i really enjoy it. but i do my forum posting elsewhere becuase of the misuse of power here, yes thats my choice, the problem is these guys can come over take there shots at me, then hide behind thier power here on real gm. pretty cowardly if you ask me. i would love to tell you more and may e-mail you about it when i have more time.

It is your choice where to post.

If you have a complaint about a Moderator, I posted my E-Mail.

MickeyDavis and Paul Pressey are stand up guys though and do not hide behind anyone.

wow the verdict before the evidence. in your eyes these guys are perfect? how can i argue with that, you have already made your decision. btw i have absolutely no problems with paul pressey, and i said i like mickey but i have indisputable evidence that he misuses his power, as much as you cant believe that.

Howard gave you his e-mail,so if you have an evidence of such, feel free to e-mail it to him.

You cannot expect him to accept or to evaluate any of your comments about well-respected moderators without showing any proof or basis.
