This is a great point.

Mo has at least stepped up to the challenge of guarding Courtney Lee.

Isn't this what we saw in Milwaukee with both Mo and Redd? You crank up the defense on those guys and they tend to wilt away. They are awesome stat getters against crappy teams in February.

The Paul Pierce and Dirk are better than LeBron train?

I think that is going to be a very small train. I guess you can add some more cars for the people who still believe Kobe is better... You know, the ones who are clinging to him winning championships as a teams second best player, five years ago.

If winning dictates everything, then that means Kobe isn't the best player in the NBA. Tim Duncan and Shaq are clearly better than him until he wins another ring, then he is on there level... I mean, who cares that Duncan and Shaq are both aging and past their primes, they have more rings, right?

In all fairness, you need to lighten up. Obviously Lebron is better than Dirk or Pierce. But there is a point there. Lebron is alot hype. Not my fault you've been falling for it.

But keep talking about how Kobe sucks if that makes you feel better. How Kobe is relevant to this Magic win is beyond me, but you guys keep bringing it up.

I can make an argument that Wade is a better player than Lebron using the same excuses that the Lehype machine here is using.

What if Wade had as much help as Lebron does? Hasn't Wade won a championship with a diminished Shaq?

Pecking order:

1. Kobe
2. Wade
3. Lebron

Until you win LePrince. You have to sit at the kids table.

That definitely puts him ahead of Kobe in my book. Two years prior, Kobe was playing with a still very dominant Shaq, and he played horrifically against the Pistons. Two years later, Wade was able to win with a much slower Shaq. Wade winning with an older Shaq is better than Kobe sucking and losing with a still dominant Shaq. Wade was Finals MVP. Kobe got hammered for his performance.

The operative words. No objective pundent or hall of fame voter would say that Wade has earned the right to be called a better player than Kobe Bryant. I'm a Marquette Warrior alum and I don't even buy it. lol.

They don't get to have it both ways.

1. Shaq/Duncan
2. Kobe/Fischer

Man, it must be nice to live in a world where Derrick Fischer is on the same level as Kobe Bryant. After all, it doesn't matter if you are the first or second best player on a championship team, so long as you win it, right? That means it doesn't matter if you are the fifth best player either.

Kobe himself said Duncan is the greatest power forward to ever play the game. He said it in Doin Work.

How about that Dwight Howard?? This guy is stepping up. King of the East. :king:

And Kobe isn't a lot of hype?

Turn on ESPN, as a matter of a fact... Turn back the clock 8-10 years when they were trying to promote him as a better player than Michael Jordan.

Kobe plays in the second biggest market in the NBA, he has been hyped MORE than LeBron has been throughout their careers.

We all saw it during that "magical" December 2006 run when they got the Bucks record back up to 16-15. Then they went out to play I think four games against Chicago and Cleveland and those defenses (Snow, Hinrich, Hughes, etc) just shut them down (and then Redd blew out his knee)

Pierce is probably ahead of Lebron as well. Not to mention a rising Dwight Howard...

1. Kobe
2. Pierce
3. Wade
4. Howard
5. James

And that doesn't even include Paul or Dirk. Dirk > Lebron?

In terms of pure legacy, you're right. Lead dogs on championship teams have the edge. "All" things considered, I think Kobe, Wade, and Lebron bring unique 2 way abilities to the table. 2 of the three have won championships. 1 of the 3 has won multiple championships amongst other notable NBA feats and accolades.

I feel like we have all had this conversation a million times. Whether it be about our previous backcourt's lack of defense, offense, athleticism, ability to win, all-around games, you name it we've covered it.

I never understood why players make guarantees. Even if you're right, you don't look very smart.

We're in the Conference Finals. We're going all the way to the Finals! Okay, so what? Is this supposed to shock anybody? You were good enough to make it to the Conference Finals, is it really that big of a stretch to say you could make it to the Finals?

On the other hand, if your prediction turns out wrong, you just look like an idiot. A no win situation.

Rings are all that matter.

Dwight Howard better win one, then he can talk to those guys.
