Mexico throws pesos at Stern

Post#1 » by Red2 » Wed May 27, 2009 1:03 pm

So the SIxers and Suns are playing a pre-season game in Mexico. Hmmmm. ANyone want to bet that the Mexican government threw a pile of money at the NBA to get a game down there? The swime flu has devastated their economy and my guess is they're looking for any way they can to show the public that it's safe to come to Mexico again. Stern of course, being the whore that he is, is only to willing to go along

Meh, and here I was hoping Stern was being pelted with Mexican currency.

Good move on Mexico's part. Their tourism industry is in shambles. Not really as good as the SARS benefit they had a few years ago in Toronto (Rolling Stones concert >>>> NBA Preseason game), but it's a step in the right direction. Win-win move for both Mexico and the NBA.
