Re: would we do this Trade YAO
If the "offseason plans" thread isn't already supposed to be it, can we change this to the offseason trade thread and have this one be the first one to get shot down?

no but I wouldn't mind trading for Yi, who could become another P.Gasol eventually
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Yi for Landry? God No, We would lose alot of if we did that. Brooks still has time to improve as does Landry so again I say no to that.

I for one would definitely consider it. Maybe if Artest doesn't want to stay in Houston and would like a S&T, then I'd totally do that.

Re: would we do this Trade YAO
we have been through this many times.
Yao will never leave.
Putting Yao and Yi together is enticing for commerical reasons.
I don't think we need Landry to be in that deal.
A S&T would be ideal if Artest decide he doesn't like houston.

I'd consider it, but there doesn't seem to be much point. It'd depend what Harris's next contract is for. According to hoopshype, he's still not signed. Neither Artest nor Brooks is currently a franchise player, but it prevents NJ from locking into another guy who also isn't one. Don't see a point to tossing in Landry, either.

Unseld for sure. But there's no way New Jersey accepts that trade. The Nets are going to try building around Devin Harris.

Yao Ming is the most valuable player in this league, what i mean is not considering his basketball skills, how many he can on the court.
It is about how much money he can raise for Alexander.
I don't see Alexander would make the deal if Magic offers superman for Yao.

Dunno about that, SUperman did shatter all allstar voting records (Somehow) and even broke everyone Yao's set.
Not to mention he's younger, more healthy, and gasp, COULD BE COULD BE the better player.

yes its basketball and you are in it to win a championship...
but bottom, bottom, bottom line
its all about the money...
if Howard could open doors ike Yao does for Alexander, so he can make like 15 million bucks in a short amount of time, im sure he would trade for Howard...

Well I Just addressed that. He broke all allstar voting records, including Yao's with 3 million votes.
Also Yao has already opened the doors to most of China. Everyone knows who he is, not many more can open. Trading Yao would still keep alot of CHina fans IMo.
I came to Rockets as a Tmac fan, yet I am still cheering for Rocktes even though he's not playing and even though ti kind of ruined his legacy to see the Rockets go on without him in 2nd round.
If he's traded I will still visit the board and cheer for Rockets.
Point is I came here because of TMac like these guys came here for Yao, but after cheering for the team for so long you ca'nt just walk away,a nd I Guarantee you chinese fans wont just disappear just because Yao is traded.
The doors have already been open. Now the way to get more fans is to win a championship.

Yes they are.
Prior to finding out he's only signed at 8.5 million, I'd have said they were going to regret it. That's a good contract though.
