What If The Lakers...

Post#1 » by vinnycorleone » Wed May 27, 2009 5:36 pm

Me and my buddy were talking about the offseason and the moves we need to make.

I let my mind wander a bit and I somehow got to a scenario where the following happens:

The Lakers trade Andrew Bynum for Marc Gasol and the 2nd pick in the NBA Draft. With the 2nd pick the Lakers take Ricky Rubio. And then the Lakers sign Juan Carlos Navarro from Europe (played in the NBA with Pau in Memphis).

So the Lakers could potentially have.

PG: Ricky Rubio
SG: Juan Carlos Navarro
SF: Kobe Bryant
PF: Pau Gasol
C: Marc Gasol

It's pretty much an all Spain team. Which is a pretty damn good team considering they have played Team USA pretty damn close and won the last World Championships.

I'm not sure if it works cap wise but that looks like a pretty cool roster. I wouldn't mind having the All Spain Team + Kobe Bryant.

Vinny Noooooooooooo! You watch too much Euro ball: Skilled smart players that can pass and shoot. Look at the NBA today it's football games with free throws instead of extra points.

Mock draft to me, top two are Griffin, Thabeet. That UConn center is gonna be a beast. Actually I'd rather have him over Griffin eventhough Griffin is more pro ready.

You are joking right. I am not giving up on Bynum yet. He is a kid and still going thru puberty (per NBA standards). He will be fine.

As for Thabeet going 2nd and being a beast. It ain't gonna happen. He is not wide enough. The guy looks like a stick. He will need to add some beef to last in the NBA. As for Griffin, I see as a much improved and NBA ready Beasley.

If we win title, No. If we lose title, maybe yes.
