That Yearly Draft Contest (Updated Prizes)

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Thu Apr 30, 2009 7:22 pm

Guess Atlanta's first and second round picks. If you think we make a trade you need to write it up and it needs to be almost exact. Only one winner is allowed, so the earlier you make your picks the better. Get your picks in before another user makes the same picks as you.

4 Prizes To The Winner:

1. Josh Smith bobble head doll: Giveaway at the arena during years past
2. 2 tickets to a 2009 Atlanta Falcons game(preseason or regular season - pending). (sry, if your outside of GA).
3. 2 tickets to the Hawks first preseason game (Courtesy of evildallas)
4. 2009 Atlanta Hawks Draft Cap (Courtesy of evildallas)

The deadline to make your picks will be after the last NBA Finals game. You won't have the workouts to cheat off of this year.

We need to guess BOTH 1st and 2nd? Man that's hard.

I'll go with Jeff Teague at 19, and Jodie Meeks at 49

It's been done. I wish I could offer more due to how difficult it is. If anyone would like to donate anything to this contest or to future contest just to make things more interesting contact me.

I'll see if I can come up with a contribution to make the contest more attractive. I'll email you later when I figure it out.

I'll go with BJ Mullens and AJ price. I don't think that Sund will be able to resist the temptation to take a project 7 footer and the second rounder will be a PG.

I wish the Hawks would take Dejuan Blair but I think he will be off the board by the time the Hawks pick. I'd like to see Calathes in a Hawks uniform- I think he would be great next to Joe. And lester Hudson is a guard I would like the Hawks to take a flyer on.

^^^I agree, and I actually almost came up with the exact same 2 picks. I'm saying BJ Mullens, and then Tyrese Rice, because I'm not sure Price will still be there.

I'm over my Tyler Hansbrough infatuation. The 19 pick is too high anyway, and I doubt the Hawks will want to trade down.

So, standing pat, the Hawks' Real GM will make the Wake Forest Point Guard choice that his predecessor could not.

Hmm...I might as well corner the market on trading the 19th pick.

I thought about this for awhile now and all I've figured out is that this will be near impossible this year. Not only do we have a new GM, but we're also prolly going to take a faller in round 1.

19: Terrance Williams
Trying to determine who's going to fall to #19 is a little like hitting the lottery. Anybody I would put here could go top 10 without it being a "shocker". I'm going with Williams because he duplicates a couple of other players (Evans, Clark) as a big guy who can run some point. If he become a competent 3 PT shooter (on top of bringing his assets up to an NBA level), then he could be a good starter in time.

EDIT: I had Rodrique Beaubois but after his showing @ the combine, someone will take a chance on his athleticism earlier. Since these are due after the NBA Finals, I figured I'd go ahead and make a switch.
DOUBLE EDIT: Sorry... AJ Price has medical concerns.
49: Nando De Colo
Back to the overseas PG.

Remember if you think a trade will happen you need to write the trade out and it has to be almost exact.

I've been holding off but with the chance the finals could end tonight I feel I need to put a guess up. Surprised we don't have more entrants as I think the prizes aren't bad (I'm biased).

19th pick - Jeff Teague
49th pick - Jeff Adrien
