Fox at 3rd?

Post#1 » by GYBE » Sat May 30, 2009 2:19 pm

Manager Lou Piniella said Wednesday that he's not yet ready to try Jake Fox at third base.
Piniella wants Fox to work with bench coach Alan Trammel to make sure he's not an egregious defensive liability. "We'd love to have his bat in the lineup," Piniella said. "Let's see him over there for a few more days working with Alan and I'll let Alan make that determination."

With the way the offense has been, we need Fox in the lineup everyday. If he's put at 3rd, it might bring back memories of Ryan Braun in 2007, but the offensive gains would probably still outweigh the negatives.

Our offense hasn't looked like we need Fox today but we might later. fox would be worse than braun. He's as bad or worse defensively than the top Brewer prospect at 3rd Gamel which is pretty horrible.
