New Coach: Unheard of, Shocking, Actually Perfect Time Now
Now as this team is constructed and going forward now is the time to
search for a coach that can take this team further.
I guarantee Karl does not reach higher heights with this team.
This was his pinnacle. He's only going to start bringing this team
down the other side of the mountain.
His Game 6 instruction during time outs was little more than rah, rah stuff.
I give Mike Brown more credit for his oversimplified adjustment of putting
the ball in LBJ's hands EVERY time at the foul line with spacing. At least
that was a true strategic adjustment, no matter how oversimplified and stripped down to a bare bones plan.
Karl had NO adjustment,.. nada, zilch,.. just rah, rah.
He had nothing to say about the defensive effort,. or lack thereof.

I thought about writing an article focusing on this awhile back. Karl doesn't do jack.. billups is the real coach etc.
But there is a 0% chance a change happens. So you can have 20 pages of posts on it and it doesn't matter. it falls 100% on death ears.
what i'd like to see and would encourage is some actual brainstorming on how to rework the roster to get to the next step. I could see some polling and some actual data being put together and while the actual front office likely wouldn't pay any attention a media outlet (of the online variety) likely would.

Here's the thing.
get rid of Karl replace him with who? Karl should of been fired 1-2 seasons ago when there was a swarm of available good coaches such as D'Antoni, Rick Adelman, Rick Carlisle, Flip Saunders, etc.
Now the only ones left are JVG and Avery Johnson... and I'm willing to bet that if they came here to coach, they will eventually be hated just as much as everyone hates Karl now.

NOT JVG nor Avery Johnson would be the right coach.
Don't know if Thibido(sp) would be either but based on his high marks
and always being considered for every opening I think I would give him a shot.

I am 99% sure that karl will still be the Nuggets coach next season. They just had the best season in team NBA history, he is not going to get fired for that.
As for replacement coaches, there is no way this team does better with a control freak like Van Gundy or Avery Johnson.

Frankly this thread makes me sick!!!!!!!
He just coached the most successful NBA season for franchise that has only been to the Conference Finals 2 other times. So should we fire Chauncey for his terrible turnovers? or JR for is terrible shot selection? The man can't get any respect, and I thought Rodney Dangerfield had it bad... He and his staff did a very good job this year getting to the WCF... He should be saluted for a job well done for this year. You can make adjustments until your blue in the face...if you team has no energy and lacks hustle in game 6... you are screwed.
You might be proven right, and that would not shock me, but after this season, I think it's terrible that anyone should say Karl should be fired. This thread is worse than the Nuggets effort last night.
A Boston assistant that has never been a head coach??? brilliant

I'd be very happy if we could somehow replace Karl with Thibideau. like many i have been wanting Karl gone for the past 3 years now, but its not happening esspecially after this playoff run
I truly believe Karl is going to be the Nuggets head coach as long as he wants to be.

It is brilliant. Everything I've seen reported, said the Celtic's defense was because of him. Not the head coach. Bring him in, have a good offense coach he can work with, and this team could do better next year.
There is nothing sick about this thread. Karl did exactly what I predicted, he helped this team lose against LA. A coach who actually coaches during games could have won games 1 and 3.
Yes, best season in Franchise history. That sounds like something Karl would say. I remember a quote near the end of the season where he said the season was already a success because they had the #2 seed. Said before the season started, the team was predicted to miss the playoffs. That's the type of loser attitude we saw in game 6. He will continue to have that attitude. We need a coach who will make the needed adjustments, not play a bad player because he loves him, and isn't happy with underachieving. That's what this team did. It changed and grew during the season. They looked to be the better team in games 1 - 5. They lost the series though, that's underachieving.

Funny, but he really didn't. Most of the credit should go to Billups. If you follow the Nuggets, you'd see Karl does little coaching during games.

Karl is still under contract through next season and the Nuggets owner will continue to honor his contract. He will be back for one more run like it or not.

I am going to have to become a moderator one day...so I can lock out (Please Use More Appropriate Word) threads like this... the Boston assistant comes in and can't get out of his own way...he doesn't make in game adjustments and loses one freakin' game you think he should win...you all want his head... The players did not get in done in crunch time in game 1, 3, and 5... Karl made mistakes just like Phil Jackson did... the Lakers have more talent and have Kobe closing games... really it's that simple. I have not heard one national or local or anything in the media saying that Karl's rotations or game plan was inexcusable....it was inexcusable for the players to not play with passion last night...but that's all Karl's fault too... I am sure it his fault for global warming, and the ozone and anything else...
Underachieving in games 1-5...ummm...again you don't $%@#*$* hold the players accountable... You NEVER NEVER NEVER DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You would make an awful moderator Coby. Locking a legit thread you disagree with is not how you moderator a board. And I don't hold the players accountable? That's funny. I do. This thread isn't about the players though, its about Karl.
The players did f' up well. But some better coaching decisions in game 1 and 3, most likely turns them in to wins. That is Karl's problem. When everyone is playing well, he comes off as a good coach. When players begin to struggle, and coaching really matters, he always comes up short.
You can continue to be in denial about your dad if you want Coby, but that's the type of coach he is. This team would be better off with someone else.

I'll tell you what. An x's and o's guy at any level is what we need. A guy that can simply scout out and break down things live and also see the bigger picture.
GK great job for breaking the mold, getting to the WCF. If GK doesn't agree that we need to know what we're doing once we crash through the first two rounds, then he's not the right man.
As I said at some point earlier, GK is a checkers wizard. Phil Jackson is a chess wizard. Phil Jackson thinks many many moves ahead. Nothing wrong with being a checkers guy, but there's only so many times you can say, "King me" and not win the entire game.

Yea its time for him to go
If any other organization was to have as much talent on our teams that we've heard in the past 2-4 years, and didnt go anywhere, they would have been fired. PERIOD.
So what makes this organization any different. Shouldn't be any difference. Its time to move on
I seen us do something that gave me hope in game 2, that we could win this series. And Karl totally went away from it. And if you cant continue do something that works, you shouldnt coach. And that was play a smaller lineup. So simple. We should have won game 3. But I seen our stagnant offense catch up with us in the 2nd half, particularly the 4th. Lakers came back and won. He played the most retardest lineups I've ever seen. 06 was our most talented team. Talented bench. A bench he ignored. A pick and roll with Nene that worked in game 1, he ignored. We all asked can Balkman get play through the season, and he rarely played. I done seen him not give any minutes to Wafer, and the boi went on to play good with the Rockets. A shooter we could have used. Its sad man. And I feel sad for our team cause of all the talent and it just went to waste. Thats how I look at it
The past few years, out talent lead us into the playoffs. In the playoffs you have to more than just talent, and what happenened. First round exits, no championships and no championship appearances

Seriously, how do you go over 7 minutes without a score with Billups, JR, 'Melo, and Nene on the court? At least draw up a middleschool double screen and get someone an open jumpshot!

Legendarywalton, I truly respect your thoughts and opinions...and if Chauncey truly ran practices and coached in the huddles... how is it that he didn't get something for himself, Melo, JR, or Nene in over 7 minutes??? This argument can go both ways... they have a ton of plays, they have to execute... sure I agree that some of it falls on the coach...Karl is not blameless at all.... but I feel everyone puts it on Karl for the failures and all the success goes to Chauncey... not exactly 100% correct, in my opinion.
b-melo wrote:And no mention, the inbound pass

Game 1... Karls fault for having AC in...I said that right after game 1... dumb move...however, AC still should have been smart enough to take a TO or fake a pass then make a bounce pass and get the ball inbounds.
Game 3... Ummm, when do you blame the execution of a play on the players... again...not a bounce pass...again...no fake... Yes, coaching plays a role...as does players doing their job... both failed on those plays...
Karl's blamed himself for game 1... I blamed him for game 1... Phil Jackson made mistakes, Popovich has made mistakes... the players have to take accountability too... They have had inbound player since grade school.
the only time in the last 4 year in the playoffs they didn't lose to a better team was the Clippers... it's ridiculous to think that the teams that played the Spurs 2x or the Lakers last year should have won a series...are you kidding me?? please. They didn't have the better talent on any of those 3 out of 4 teams... they didn't have a leader that would hold the coaches words accountable...like Tim Duncan does... now they do in Chauncey...and why he gets all the credit according you you all...I don't know why Pop is such a great coach...he wasn't so good with out Ginobil and a non-healthy Duncan.... LOL, but he's X's and O's are great...he made great adjustments against Dallas... JJ Barea killed them.
you all have your fun and bash GK... I don't think he deserve all of it...

About the inbounds pass. GK tends to trust his guards to the point where he doesn't bother to give input where input is due. AC saying after that first game inbounds **** up, "That didn't lose us the game." while being true to an extent, it certainly exposed a weakness which the Lakers exploited. The best in tht situation would be to admit to the mistake, admit to how damaging it can be in a tight game, and say to AC/anyone inbounding the ball, "We're going to work on this. We're going to spend 5 minutes doing it, but we are working on this, this is too important."
Bet you nobody said a word except nodding in agreement over AC's, "That didn't lose us the game."
