OT: Never a Champion

Larry would never. Magic would never. Michael would never. And Kobe would never. Isiah and the rest of the classless Pistons did. And now LeBron did as well.

Now, no matter how many championships Lebron will win in his career, he will NEVER be viewed as a TRUE CHAMPION. NEVER. How many of you view the '89 and '90 Pistons teams with the same respect as previous and forthcoming champions? After the Pistons left the court, in the same manner as Lebron did last night, against the Bulls in the ECF in 91, not very favorably. AND the Piston players did atleast speak to the media afterwards, Lebron didn't even do that! I remember McHale whispering into Isiah's ear, on the court giving Isiah encouragement, after Detroit beat us in '88. One would think Isiah would have remembered and garnered the same respect to the Bulls. Isiah later said it was one of the biggest mistakes of his career. He and his team have never been viewed as *true* champions in the eyes of many fans.

You have to take the good with the bad. True champions deal with adversity. You can dam well have expected Lebron to be sitting there with his little suit and his little hat on sideways, with a little smile yapping away if his little team won this series. THIS IS VERY BAD. This is bad for Lebron. We thought he was better than this. This doesn't have anything to do with athletic ability. This tells so much about him as a person, as a man. Don't give me he's only 24. That is like A-Rod passing responsibilitly onto youth when he coffessed to using steriods at the ripe age of 24. It doesn't fly. You are a man at that point. Somethings can be attributed to youth and somethings can't. Both instances cannot. Even if Bronny was still 18, we expect more. Bronny's endorsers must be fuming this morning.

I will say it again, No matter how many championships Lebron wins in his career, last night put a damper on all of them. He will never be viewed in the same manner and respect as Larry, Michael, and Magic. Ever.

This is what the media/league gets for putting The King labels on players before they are really are The King. He will learn from this and be better for it. One mistake doesn't define a person.

Meh, if this defines his career then we're all pretty small, IMO. The league cares deeply about LeBron's image, I'll guarantee they'll be an article talking about how he was too emotional and disappointed to talk by tomorrow. I don't hate Lebron.. I hate "Lebron", the media hype that surrounds him, but one mistake living in a media microscope shouldn't be enough to taint an entire career. Like him or not, he's one of the best to ever play the game and here to stay, if he learns from this it'll be forgotten.

My guess losing in the eastern final again will just make him a better player....he's even hungrier now!...

You can't blame the player for other's perceptions and the media labeling....and what good does it do to pile on to a dissapointing loss?

Like KG, he too has that same level of intensity....and some day he will certainly be a champion....it just wasn't his time this year....

If you all were in his shoes, you would be disapointed too!

And when you can't say something good, it's better just to say nothing at all...

His reaction is very understandable....JMO

Eh, its not very respectful, but I don't usually get worked up over these kinds of things. Especially since in LeBron's case his entire team basically didn't show up for an entire series. For a guy who has the potential to be one of the greatest ever, his teammates and his coach basically put a huge dent in his resume, despite his superhuman play, and if I were in his shoes I would be livid. I would be shocked if Mike Brown wasn't fired in the next few days. Of course the media is going to complain about not getting interviews. If someone on our team did this I would be dissapointed but not outraged.

I'm fine with a guy actually caring that much about a game. I thought it was actually nice to see. Who cares if he congratulates the team after? They are just being fake at that point anyways.

I **** laughed so hard when the Cavs lost...I already had a rather low opinion of LeBron due to his planet-sized ego, so this didn't change it much...

I don't care that he walked off the court fuming. That's fine. However, why didn't he show up for the press conference afterwards? Can't you get fined for that sort of thing?

As for the "I'm a competitor" excuse - Puuuuh-leeeease!!! :roll:

You don't think it hurt the Celts when they lost to the Magic? Of course it did, but you didn't see them snubbing the media afterwards. Heck, even Kobe Bryant stuck around and shook hands last year even though his team got bludgeoned. Come to think of it, a tearful Kobe even shook hands and hugged with Spurs players after they ended the 3-peat in 2003.

Lebron is a baby. Dude didn't even travel back with the team, and chose to stay behind with his mommy. I guess it was time for a diaper change cuz Mr."My range is unlimited" definitely crapped himself against the Magic. :lol:

He's 24 and he'll probably win 7 championships or something.

If that was enough to make LeBron so angry (and not the stinkeriffic performance of his teammates in games 1-6) then he's got bigger issues than we thought...the self-proclaimed "winner" (of a division title) and greatest player ever has the mental toughness of an 8 yr old playing Biddy Ball if that's the case...
