Z and Ben for Camby and Zach?

Zach had solid numbers, much better than you might have expected
production net +4.5
on/off court net +7.1
Zach actually had the best +/- numbers on the Clippers. They played best when he was on the court and worst when he was off the court.
Camby had the 4th highest rebounding rate in the NBA this season.
Dwight got 6 offensive rebounds in game 6.
Zach 25th in PER.
Camby 42nd in PER.

LOL. No way does Clippers do this. Forget this idea, plus salaries don't match.

Clippers is very likely to do something like this. They hate Randolph and his contract to begin with and now they have Blake Griffin to clear up playing time for.

Re: Z and Ben for Camby and Zach?
mike dunleavy is actually still very high on randoplh and his plug and play 20 &10s. but they're porbably looking to move his contract to free minutes for blake.
in recent interviews they said that camby's going nowhere tho... they love his mentoring of the young guys in jordan, gordon and taylor.
i'd think a big ben + 2nd rounder for randolph would be a good deal.
they're going to move kaman or randolph and both still have enough value to get atleast something in return.
the cavs could really use zach to bang down low... put a defensive big next to him and go for it.

Correct. According to fans on Clips Forum, getting rid of Zach is top priority.
Cavs can get him for Ben ...and then let Sterling buy out Ben.

You don't want Zach Randolph even if Camby is involved.

Dont make us dust off the old No Knicks trade thread... We still dont want Randolph, and never will.

Hard to make a guarantee on something like that. I see this Randolph trade as being very possible considering the glaring need for a scorer at the four and LBJ's impending free agency. Say what you will about Zach but he was a very proficient scorer for us last year.
I really like 1840s merchant vessels. Basketball on the other hand, I can take it or leave it...

Re: Z and Ben for Camby and Zach?
I said it then, and I'll say it now. Zach would be a good fit on the cavs. He's not a perfect player, but he rebounds, he scores (though he takes a jump shot a bit too often) and he's not a bad man on man defender.
Is he a perfect player? No. Will he frustrate you sometimes? Yes.
But Zach is a good player, with some very nice post moves. No question. He also played center for the knicks without complaint, even though he's like 6'7. He's got good hands and he's be a nice target for that guy you have on your team. Just keep the ball out of Zach's hands for the first 12 seconds of ever 24 second period and you'll be fine.
On drawback on Zach is he's sometimes prone to the injury bug and missing a few games, but if you had him on your team, I think you'd like him.
The Knicks & Cavs didn't want to trade with each other for obvious reasons, but as far as Zach goes, there are very few players of his skillset (20/10) that you can acquire for basically filler. If you can trade for Amare, then try that first, but Amare would cost probably a couple of picks and he's a bigger injury risk than Zach. From a backseat GM's perspective, Zach is worth considering.

Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!
As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

Re: Z and Ben for Camby and Zach?
Zach and Camby would just be a band aid over a mortal wound. Orlando exposed the Cavs supporting cast this year and some fundamental changes are needed, but not Camby and Randolph. Randolph would screw over any chance you guys have of getting any talent in 2010 with at least $52 million having to be committed in salary, and would add some off the court issues.
On the flip side though, there likely aren't any better trades the Cavs can make this offseason, and if nothing is done, the odds of Lebron bolting are increased. It's a lose-lose scenario.
This squad as is does have a chance at winning a title again next year since any team with Lebron has a chance, so I think your offseason priority shouldn't be acquiring more starting talent, but rather acquiring a solid defensive minded G/F in the mold of Posey, a backup PG, and looking for better options at coach to replace Brown.

Re: Z and Ben for Camby and Zach?
The Cavs need shot blockers. If they can acquire Kaman or Camby (or both), they will not upset next year like they did here.
Ben Wallace is hinting that he wants to retire. Hopefully however, before anything is made official, Cleveland can move his contract in exchange for players who fill holes.
Wallace and Gibson (and maybe a 1st rounder... a low 1st) for Kaman and a filler would be a good trade for Cleveland. Yet as logical as it sounds, does LAC move Kaman? Or even Camby? Griffin is an out and out PF, who'll need a true center like Kaman to do some of the dirty work he usually does on an average night. More than likely you'll see Camby be shopped. Camby would have faired miles better than any Cavaliers big in this series because he's actually a shot blocking threat.

Re: Z and Ben for Camby and Zach?
Wallace, Pavlovic, Kinsey for Randolph, Kaman
Then we sign Kidd with the MLE, resign Varejao, and hopefully resign Wally.
Basically, we cover up some of our needs. Randolph gives us a scorer in the post (sorry, Z is only a shooter...), and Camby gives us a real defensive presence who could at least bother Howard some. Kidd gives us some defense in the backcourt and hopefully can help to get the offense moving.
Williams/Kidd
West/Boobie
Lebron/Wally
Randolph/AV
Camby/Z

Wine & Gold has made it pretty clear in the past that the Cavs want absolutely nothing to do with Randolph. I take his word as fact. Randolph will not be a Cavalier.

Re: Z and Ben for Camby and Zach?
I was wondering how you guys were feeling after the loss. Maybe you could trade for Zach and then get Curry from NYKs. Add Isaih Thomas as your GM and Lebron won't have to go to NY because they will have come to him.....lol.....j/k guys....seriously, that series looked like the 1980s Bulls when MJ had zero help and he tried to carry the entire load all the time. You just can't beat playoff teams unless other guys step up and I think many of the Cavs players let themselves down.
I don't know what Cleveland will do in the off season but I'd predict Lebron cuts out the whole pre-game theatrics next season. Anyway, good luck.

I like Chris Kaman's game, but I want nothing to do with Zach Randolph. He was a cancer in Portland and is a cancer for the Clippers. Not even the Clippers want anything to do with Randolph. If we could trade for Kaman I would be all for it, but not if we have to take on Randolph's bad contract and attitude. I would much rather pursue Rasheed Wallace or Antonio McDyess. While pundits talk about Sheed as having an attitude problem, all of his teammates love playing with him.

I don't recall Randolph having any problems with the coaches or teammates when with the Knicks or Clippers. Clippers fans want him traded to make room for Blake Griffin.

Re: Z and Ben for Camby and Zach?
Sign me up for the Acquire Zach Randolph Campaign. We got nothing to lose, I can't take another ECF ejection. We obviously don't have the goods to acquire someone like Bosh or Stoudamire. Randolph is a big producer and our front court is sorely lacking. Remember the rebounding dominance our team had when Gooded was here? We get that and then some with Zach. And his offensive game is Gooden on steroids. We might have won that Orlando series with Gooden and Randolph is just like a better version of him. They both make boneheaded mistakes but that's a price we can pay. Mo Williams straightened up his act and became a better player with Lebron, I don't see why Zach can't do the same.
The Cavs would have a complete team if they got Randolph with outside shooters in Mo and West, superstar slasher in Lebron and post up player in Zach.

Re: Z and Ben for Camby and Zach?
I have a good feeling that Zach could be had for an expiring (AKA big Ben) but the big question is would the cavs want him? He'd be a good post scorer for you, but he's a huge liability on the defensive end. On the offensive end, his tendency to want to jack the ball could really hurt your team chemistry. Anything that takes shots away from Lebron, Mo Williams, and the others and replaces those shots with ill-advised jumpers probably isn't worth considering IMO. Who knows, it could work, but the odds of Zach failing in Cleveland are much higher IMO.

Come on guys you sound like the 480 bridge is becking for you. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WAYYYYYYYYYY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW to Zack LBJ would bolt without a doubt if he came aboard. Camby would be fine due to his contract, but Zack come on let me count the ways
1} Lazy on the defensive end
2} Low basketball IQ think back to the last time we played them enough said
3}Hasn't found a brawl yet that he would pass on partaking in.He has some domestic charges pending in Ind.
4}Loose flexabilty for 2010
So Camby would be decent & fill a void. Heck I would take Rasheed over Zack say what you want but if Rasheed is motivated you have a proven winner you can't say that about Zack
