Who's good for the Red Wings? I can't tell they play as a team and their players all melt together.

Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Franzen (Playoff warrior), Holmstrom and Datsyuk (who is hurt right now).

Zetterberg must be the bravest guy on the planet. He throws his body face first into the goalies skate to help his team stop a goal. That's commitment. :o

3-1 well yeah your team isn't helping but MAF is a terrible playoff goalie. Put him on any team that not top 10 and he sucks even more so then now. The guy is terrible in the post season. We have some of the best role players I think in a long time Sorry Pens fans this is our year again would be suprised if this goes 4 straight to us.

I think our coaching is slightly better then yours (that's not a knock on your team/organization) I think in the next 3-4 years it will be Pittsburgh an Chicago for cups

These are two very well-matched teams. But the Wings are just a bit better in pretty much every regard. Pittsburgh is a VERY good team but there isn't a single facet of the game that they can exploit against Detroit.

Is the Red Wings strategy to have 5 guys in front of each goal and start a dog pile whenever the puck gets near either goal?

Playoff stats for MAF:

I'm not going to both to post his 06-07 stats because if you watched that series, you'd know he was the pens best player.
07-08 - 14-6 1.97 GAA and .933 SV %
08-09 - 12-6 2.64 GAA and .906 SV %

That's not a bad line. You put Fleury on Detroits team, he'd do just as good as Osgood, if not better.

Wow. At least Malkin came to play. Maybe Sid should take a note of Malkins emotion.

Can these announcers ride the Pens nuts any harder? They're about to go down 2-0 and all the announcers can talk about is the momentum the Pens have gained due the last minute scrapping.

Then you must have missed Mike Milbury on his knees in front of Osgood talking about how great of a goalie he is. I've heard them talk as much about Detroit as Pittsburgh.

For the first 10 mins, the game was boring. After that, it was an exciting game. Hopefully, these will bring in more viewers for the NHL and soon the games will be back on ESPN and ESPN2.

McGuire won his Stanley Cup with the Pens. Blame NBC if he shows homerism toward the Pens.

As it should be. Osgood has put up fantastic numbers in the playoffs. That's my point. This whole "it's not a series until someone loses a home game" is BS. When you're down 2-0 with no forseeable answer as to how to win a game, you're in some s**t. And the announcers should be saying that.

How is this "It's not a series until someone loses at home" BS talk? It's true. Look at the Caps series between the Pens. Pens lost the first 2 games and then won 2 at home. Home ice advantage plays a huge role in the NHL playoffs.

EDIT - Thus the reason for the title, Home Ice Advantage.

No offense but put pretty much any goalie on Detroit and their golden. They have a great defensive mindset.

Game 3 is going to be epic for sure.

It's really unbelievable to me that teams just allow them to do that. Get your forwards in there and push them. It's obvious as hell what they try to do, Huet and Khabibulin were screened all series and no adjustments were made.

At least try to get them out of there, if you don't, you're setting their plan up perfectly.

I'm so glad you're not a Washington or Philly fan. It's nice to not have to get PO'd on a message board and want to start throwing things because you have to deal with those idiots.

Game 3 should be epic. Must win for the Pens so hopefully they will play with fire. Disco Dan looks PO'd in the post game. Looks like the Pens are going to get some major ass chewing.

If Malkin gets suspended for game 3, I will hunt down Gary Bettman and Colin Campbell and kill them both. Yes, Crapitals fans, you can call the cops on me. (If anyone doesn;t get that, Crapitals fans called the FBI on a 17 year old kid who posted on a message board that he was gonna kill Ovechkin)

Malkin picked up the instigator against Zetterberg there. We'll see if the league has the balls to suspend one of their golden boys.

And how ridiculously deep is Detroit? Abdelkader again! If Detroit was fully healthy and allowed they could probably roll out 6 lines.

I've got to agree with Monocad. Home ice is an advantage but the Pens still have to win 4 out 5 against Detroit. That would be tough even if the next 5 games were all in Pittsburgh.

That Pens are playing Detroit fine. You look at 4 out of Detroits 6 goals, they're flukey. The 1st 2 were lucky bounces in game 1, The 2nd one in game was with an empty net after Malkin pushes Holmstrom into Fleury and the last one was a misread by Fleury.

I honestly like the way the Pens are playing. They are playing so much better then last year and I really expect the next 2 to go the Pens way.
