Zambrano pitched very well in spring training and I am looking forward to seeing how he does.

Wow talk about a short leash

I like it though. Zambrano has more upside than Towers

Now we just have to replace Chacin

Towers wasn't pitching that poorly. His control had been excellent as usual, he'd actually been striking people out at a decent clip, and three of the four home runs he'd allowed were in one game.
Stupid move. I don't expect Zambrano to be any more effective.

Yeah I am a bit surprised. Towers has only had that one really bad game where the long ball beat him soundly, and that was really only one inning.

not that type of upside.

Zambrano has more potential to come out and be a solid 10-12 win pitcher and eat some innings.

with Towers you're thankful if he doesn't get shelled in 5 innings of work

Yeah but Zambrano was also traded for Scott Kazmir, doesnt mean it was deserved at that point.

i do know what you're saying, but unfortunately i doubt we'll feel any more comfortable with Zambrano. Zambrano's trademark is being a rediculous nibbler - he isn't the sorta guy who gets ahead of batters - he pitches almost a 50:50 ratio of balls:strikes, and has to pitch himself out of jams every game to get a win. I am not excited at all - and personally i'm gonna stay away from the Rogers Centre whenever this guy is making a start (of course, i would do the same for Towers)

Considering all the availbale options Zambrano over Towers is the way to go.

If Zambrano wasn;t only 9 months from surgury Towers probably wouldn't even have gotten one start this year and Zambrano would have been the 5th guy coming out of camp
