Jets @ Ravens l Game Two

Post#1 » by Manhattan Project » Fri Sep 14, 2007 10:34 pm

Coming off a disappointing week one performance, granted who really knows how we did in lights of the scandal. One thing is sure though, Kellen Clemens will probably start and the Ravens have one of the scariest defenses to make your first start against. Lets take a look at a few players that we need to keep an eye on.

Image

Finally out of Buffalo will Willis McGahee's magic stick with him. He is the one running back that has always had his way with the Jets. With McNair down with an injury, expect him to get more carries then usual.

Image

There was a reason the Ravens let Thomas go, Terrell Suggs. He can put his hand down and rush from the corner or blitz through the gaps. With Lewis having a minor injury, Suggs should be able to cover more ground.

Image

Ed Reed can do it all. He can cover, he can stop the run and he can blitz. He feast on young QB's and with Clemens probably getting the nod Reed should be able to play with him.

Image

Probably making his first start for the Jets. Will he show the fans that Pennington is needed more then most people think, or will he be that preseason wonder? One thing for sure is that its a rough first start.

Image

Jonathan Vilma and Ray Lewis are close friends. Both being linebackers from the "U". Vilma had a subpar game last week not really making an impact, he should look to impress one of his idols.

Image

Looked like a tackling machine last week, Revis should play a huge role in run defense. However the Ravens might try to use play action to confuse the rookie. Im expecting another stellar game from Revis.

Time for Clemens to prove himself. But I wouldn't get too excited, expect most Jets fan to go CRAZY if he gets at least an 80 QB rating.

Gonna be a tough game, this game will go down based on Thomas Jones and McGahee, if either gets it on, then damn, it's gonna be a long night for defenses. I'm also praying that our front 7 can get to the backfield a lot more that against the Pats.

Thank you MP, I thought I was the only one who recognized Revis against the Patriots, damn, that guy has looked very sharp, I like his coverage but can use some improvements, he covered Moss pretty well, but the height advantage was what gave Moss an advantage.

game over.

Rhodes has been terrible, Vilma is a ghost.

No idea, man this is going to be a LONG LONG LONG season.

I loved the way that Clemens refused to give up today, he really put us in a chance to tie the game at the end of the fourth quarter. Justin dropped a sure touchdown, one that should have been. On top of that Clemens was a few inches short from hitting Coles for the tie, its the up and downs you have to take with a young QB. However either way Clemens is legit...

Ravens fan here.

Very impressed with Clemens. I never thought he would have had as good a finish as he did knowing that the Ravens feast on young, inexperienced QB's. Heck, he nearly sent the game into OT where anything can happen.

Good game, and good luck the rest of the season.

^Thanks

Very impressed with Clemens, McCairens should've caught that pass, he had 2 chances as well to score a TD and messed up both...damn.

Anyway defense looked below average, protection was good considering it's the Ravens D. Jones ain't looking sharp because of his injury, I wonder why wasn't Leon Washington used more. But still VERY impressed with Clemens, looking forward to see that if he plays next week, how will he do with a defense worse than the Ravens.

Anyway, thanks for letting us know about Clemens and what he can do :D. And good luck with the season.
