“Tyreke will work out against anyone,” says a source at Wasserman Media Group, Evans’ agency. “The only problem so far has been that no one is willing to work out against him, especially not DeRozan or Harden.”

I wasn't as sold as most on evans, but I love this mentality.

Evans @6 + Williams @18 = mega backcourt upgrade on defense. Evans, Brewer, Williams lineup

6' 8.25" 8' 7"
6' 11.25" 8' 8"
6' 9" 8' 7.5"

Obviously we need a major upgrade on perimeter defense, but you need SOMEONE in the backcourt who can reliably hit a jump shot.

Nobody needs this jumper you speak of. All MN's guards were ice cold until Jan, at least these 3 can be effective defensively.

This bomb backcourt is going to rack up steals and go coast to coast, plus finish mad outlets from love.

we got Foye to hit jumpers and Brewer is steadily improving. It's even more important to have a guys that can create a shot match their opponents physically than it is to hit a stand still J. Look at Philly, that entire team is 30% and below from the arc, but they're athletic and they can create. You take Philly and replace Brand/Dalembert w/ Jefferson/Love and Green w/ Foye and that team is contenders.

Evans/Foye/long athletic SF/Jefferson/Love is all kinds of mismatches in our favor

Does Evans really create mismatches though? Won't teams just sag way off him because they know his jumper is junk? Wouldn't that limit his effectiveness because it would take away his ability to drive and shrink the passing lanes?

Sagging evans at all is going to result in him taking a shot considering his reach advantage against most guards it may as well be an uncontested shot.

Why do we need anyone else then? Let's just draft Evans and give him the ball on every play for a 1 on 5.

That's sort of what the defense wants if they're sagging of him. He hasn't proven he can hit a jump shot consistently, uncontested or not.

Virtually unguarded he's certainly a better shooter than bassy. He's probably a %35(+/-5) shooter on his jump shot based on some rough calculations from some of the synergy sports data posted on DX. Same thing can be said for plenty of players. He has a scorers mentality and is willing to take the shot. Like LBJ? not that Evans is or will ever be in the same league. I've seen some older synergy data on LBJ and he was at best average or less as a jump shooter.

His shot will improve I wouldn't worry about it.

You ever notice that he can't really jump very high? For a dude that long and that size you'd think he could get a little more lift...

Any word on when the vertical and standing jump measurements are going to be released?

Evans actually has pretty solid lift. He's a great athlete. The part of his clips that I've loved is watching him dunk THROUGH people. He's a beast who just runs guys over. He takes contact and still finishes well.

I think I watched more full games of Evans than any other guard because my opinion changed so often with him. Currently I have him behind Rubio/Holiday/Harden/Curry but ahead of DeRozan/Henderson.

George "The Iceman" Gervin!

But yeah, I think Tyreke is basically calling people out and the top prospects are scared.
