he ignored reporters, so reporters are mad and are trying to convince fans that they're mad too.

Re: The Official Playoffs Thread
It's funny to see the media go from tossing Lebron's salad 24/7 to bashing him 24/7 now because he wouldn't talk to them after game 6.
I don't see what the big deal is either.Sure it's a good move if you care about your rep with the media to talk to them but who cares, their (Cavs) season is over everyone saw the game what more needs to be said.

"It’s hard for me to congratulate somebody after you just lose to them. I’m a winner.".
NBA Championships:
-
Other Championships:
1) Gold medal with Team USA, 2007 FIBA Americas Championship
2) Gold medal with Team USA, 2008 Summer Olympic Games
I guess we can take comfort in known our very own Michael Redd is a winner as well, given they have the same number of 'championships'.
Oh yeah, LeFlop has never won anything without Maxx.

This series will be won and lost on Bynum's ability to both guard and go at Dwight imo. His play since coming back has been substandard at best, it will be very interesting to see how he goes.
Then again Phil might just start Odom instead if he's completely lost faith in Bynum.

I don't see Bynum being a huge factor at all. I don't see him being able to stay on the court against Howard. Howard and Bryant will obviously be the key players in the series. Whichever superstar can control the series will ultimately win it. History has been kind to the dominant big man. We'll see if Bryant can overcome the Howard factor. Jordan probably could. Check that. Definitely could.

I see it as being eerily similar to the Cavs/Magic series, in that Dwight and Lebron definitely were not the keys to deciding it, but rather the play of the supporting casts, or lack of play in the Cavs case.
Kobe and Dwight will get their's, but if someone like Bynum can step up and at least partially control Dwight while being a weapon on offense to go at Dwight it will make a massive contribution to the outcome of the series imo.

Re: The Official Playoffs Thread
Firstly, I don't think coolhandluke's post from a few pages ago (215?) should be overlooked - Cavs are royally screwed after next season. They're going to have... Mo Williams, Delonte West, AV and maybe Hickson. I suppose Gibson as well. That team makes no playoffs.
I would have been very interested to see what an emotional, off-the-cuff Lebron would have said after that loss. Perhaps the Cavs are happy he didn't speak?
That's pivotal to me too. And Wise's second sentence could rebuke his first - if Bynum can stay out there, he'll be pivotal. That's all on him. He has the potential to do it.

of course they wouldn't make the playoffs, if you take a team designed around one person, subtract that person without adding anything, they're certainly not gonna get better.
however, if lebron does leave, that money can pay someone else

Did he actually say that? What a dink. But at least it proves that he's not a Nike android.
This kind of thing followed Isiah Thomas around for years. Though, in the post modern era, 'it's all good' and I'm 'just a hater'.
I suppose kings rarely have to learn humility and sportsmanship while awaiting the throne. What did I expect?

Cavs had 6 lousy seasons prior to drafting LeBron. Before them 6 seasons they had many first round exits in playoffs under Fratello.Jez2983 wrote:Firstly, I don't think coolhandluke's post from a few pages ago (215?) should be overlooked - Cavs are royally screwed after next season. I think LeBron deserves all the heat he's getting and you could argue he deserves even more. Hollinger made a great point in his column today - if Kobe had done this, he'd be crucified. And to Kobe's credit, he manned up after the Game 6 loss in the Finals last season.
Nothing will not break me.

Re: The Official Playoffs Thread
The fallout for Kobe would be MUCH worse in my opinion than it has been for LeBron. I agree with Hollinger on that point. I believe LeBron acted immature and showed no class. I like him and I'm a fan but that was a weak play. If you're going to be there when people love you and times are great, you need to be there when times are tough too. That's part of the deal for a team leader - especially one making a gazillion dollars a year like LeBron.
Nothing will not break me.

i guess it's just me downplaying everything again.
but i just don't get calling him an immature punk with no class because he was upset after a loss and skipped a press conference. i guess i'm just weird

Re: The Official Playoffs Thread
It's just a difference of opinion. Punk was too harsh but it was an immature act in my opinion and it definitely did not show any class. Nobody likes to lose so that's a weak excuse by LeBron. As I said, Kobe manned up after a much worse loss last season in the Finals. If LeBron's going to be there when people tell him how wonderful he is and when things are rosy then I believe he should be there when times are tough too.
Nothing will not break me.

Re: The Official Playoffs Thread
Are people really that pissed that he skipped the press conference? It was definitely immature, but I can't see being really upset about it. Seems pretty "meh" to me. On the scale of things a guy needs to do to get labeled "an immature punk with no class" this is seriously far down the list.
