Drew Gooden?

Post#1 » by LarryBrdismyDad » Tue Jun 2, 2009 4:43 am

I havent seen him mentioned anywhere on this board. If we can't sign Rasheed or Birdman hed be next on my list. At 6-10 250 he can play backup C and he has a decent game. Career 12 and 8 guy with solid defense. Will the Spurs resign him? Hes only 27. I wouldnt mind giving him 3 to 4 mil for 1 or 2 yrs. I also wouldnt mind Zaza or Gortat. Rasho is awful and Mcdyess is very old. Then trading our crap package of Scal/TA/Giddens/Pruitt/House for one of these guys to give these teams a salary dump:

Gerald Wallace (Char), Stephen Jackon, Corey Maggette(GS)

I would then fill our roster out with solid guys lke Von Wafer, Shannon Brown. Id rather have guys like this who can play then Giddens, Pruitt, POB, Moore, and other crap we had on our bench. Next yr could be the last run. We need to load up and worry about salary ramifications later.

Thoughts?

Add Posey (NO) to the list of those guys at the SF spot we could trade for.

Gooden was a Celtic killer when he was in Cleveland. He could never miss when he got the ball. I wouldn't mind Gooden if Sheed is out of the picture.

Yes, Gooden would be great here---but, please people--NEVER Mention Corey Maggette on this board again-!!

Yes. No Corey Maggette, especially now since he has that massive contract. If we can get Gooden and a swingman like Barnes while re-signing Baby, I'll be very happy.

we need a center, not a guy that "can" play center.

baby gives no shotblocking at center when he is in.

Gooden would give no shotbloking, basically a little taller baby.

we need to find a free agent backup center. Baby will be just fine as KG's backup at pf.

Darth speaks!

~~ well!

I'd enjoy a Center as well on this team for a backup. Although that doesn't make us younger, it will be nice to have a shotblocker off the bench to keep the defense prowness up. And have someone else that can be hit by D12/Lebron.
