Game 2: Minnesota at Detroit
I know we've beaten Detroit something like 8 times in a row but I think this is going to be a tough game. I think the key is getting pressure on Kitna, covering Williams and Johnson for any length of time will be tough.

It has been 10 in a row. Knock on wood. There has been alot of talk about Detroits offense being much better with Mike Martz in charge. What about detroit's defense. Are they any good? This game will be decided by how the Vikes play on offense. Can they score any touchdowns? I don't think the vikings' defense will outscore the opposing team this week.

Detroit's got good speed at LB, a questionable secondary, and a defensive line that can look dominant at times (when Shaun Rogers is playing up to his potential). I'm a little worried, since this may be a game that's put in Jackson's hands. The good thing is that they turn the ball over a lot.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

I almost agree completely with what you have to say about the Lions. Should be a good game on Sunday. Detroit had their way with Oaklands defense last week, which was the top ranked pass defense last year, so that leaves a lot of hopes for us Lion fans that we will put up a lot of points if our WRs can all stay healthy this year. Our OLine looked really good giving Kitna protection to throw the ball and Bell even broke a couple nice runs that were not used to seeing on this team. The defense is what scares me. The Lions are going to give up a lot of points to teams that can throw the ball. I think if a team trys to run up the middle on Detroit is going to be in trouble with putting up positive yardage because Rogers and Redding are going to dominate a lot of teams offensive lines, putting pressure on the opposing QBs and forcing the RBs to the corners. The LB position has a lot of speed, but they're going to have to come up and make some plays for us to have a good year. Our secondary is shaky to say the least, but they were a lot better than any of us expected against Oakland. Sorry for the long post, but I think thats the basic breakdown of what to expect from the Lions on Sunday.

I think the Vikes D will play a better game than Oakland. They have some game tape to analyze and will just be able to put up a better effort than Oakland. That being said, I still think this game can go either way. If Detroit gets ahead early, it's over for the Vikes. If the Vikes control the clock and the game, could be a better game for the Vikes.
"Dude, all I am saying is we already have a starting RB, his name is Chester Taylor. Besides AP isn't that good anyways. I hope we draft McFadden." --Me after he broke the record.

The game was VERY painful to watch. The play calling was terrible and the execution wasn't much better.
Pro's- Tarvaris has probably (hopefully) reached the lowest he will go in his professional career. He can always look back at this game and remember not to let the game slip away from him and to always make his reads and get rid of the ball instead of throwing it up for grabs.
-Adrian proved he could take a beating and not get hurt. We kept running him into a brick wall, and he kept standing up asking for more.
-The pass rush was once again very good. We knew they were going to be playing four-wide the entire game and that we had to get to Kitna quickly. Plus another defensive touchdown.
-The secondary did exactly what they though they were going to do. Let them pick up a bunch of yards and stop them once they got into the red zone. Darren Sharper has still got it. McCauley missed a couple of tackles, but was still very impressive in only his second game.
Cons-Pretty much the whole game. But I don't want to focus on that.
The game was on the road versus an improved Lions team, so it's alright if we let this one slip. But we have to hope that Chester is back and ready to play on Sunday, cause our offense looked terrible.
Here's to a big win over the Chiefs!
