I'm sorry, but after watching the yankees comeback tonight live and the way the ball was exploding out of the stadium, this is starting to look like more than a blip. (the homerun records at the new park) ... balls are flying out of there in unreal fashion.
It's almost unfair for them to be playing there right now the way their payroll is juiced with all boppers. Something has to be done about that stadium. A hardcore Yankees fan told me that some company from Guelph Ontario tested the stadium for "aerodynamics" and **** like that. Well, I gotta tell ya, I think they **** the bed.
Anyways, this should be fixed. We already have the Red Sox playing with a close wall and a short porch on the other side. Crazyness.

Re: New Yankee Stadium = Cheetz
I doubt they will do anything about it with the lineup they have. Look out for some crazy home run numbers from A-roid and Tex.
The positive side is that other teams going into that ballpark are going to have the same advantage. It's bound to bite them in the ass some day.

Don't really see the "advantage" the yankees have with this. As NYY Fan, I hate the number of HR's that've been hit, because just like my team can hit one and win a game, the other team can do the same.

Yeah, but if you load your team up with sluggers, you're going to have a huge advantage.

Good pitching is good pitching. As long as you've got a lineup of sluggers, you're going to have a massive advantage over more conventional clubs.

Re: New Yankee Stadium = Cheetz
most teams in the league build their rosters to be well rounded, a couple sluggers, a few speedy guys, a few situational guys, a few ops guys. Teams like Minnesota have lived and died off small ball. Teams like the Jays have a couple long ball hitters. Problem is, in a non salary cap system, the yankees pay to have all "big bats" ... even guys like Robinson cano and Melky Cabrera have 20-25 HR power. Then you have 2 of those most prolific hitters in the game. Your lineup is outfitted to hit bombs, when posada is healthy he's 20+. My problem is that it seems your stadium is outfitted for it too. It is advantageous because your whole lineup is a homerun threat whereas it's only one or two guys on other teams.
It's kind of crazy to me. On top of the fact that we have 2 of the highest payrolls in professional sports in our division, they also have stadiums that are very advantageous to their abilities to spend money. The Red Sox had Manny peppering the monster (or just moonshotting over it) for the last few years as well as Big Papi destroying Pesky's pole over the short porch in right. Now we have the yankees playing in a **** boombox with Johnny Damon,Derek Jeter,Alex Rodriguez,Mark Teixera as their first four hitters.... thats insane, Johnny Damon hits his fair share of homers, Jeter hits a few, no need to talk about Arod and Teix. But how about after your frontloaded lineup.... oh thats right... Cano(20+)Cabrera(20+)Posada(20+)Matsui(20+) .... crazyness i tell you. If the Jays were in any division outside of the AL East they would of made the playoffs about 5 times since our drought began, its just starting to be annoying that everything in our division works against us.

Yeah, that's basically it. They've rigged up their stadium to make it so that they have a serious advantage that they'll never let go of (until some sort of cap system), which is the ability to pay to have the best sluggers in the league on your team.
What you said is exactly what I've been saying since people figured out that Yankee stadium is a home run haven. They designed it so that they have a massive advantage over the rest of the league.

Re: New Yankee Stadium = Cheetz
As per wiretap today.
On doing something about the excessive home runs @ Yankee stadium
"It's not something I’m even thinking about," said Yankee GM Brian Cashman. "Most of the home runs are launched, so I don't know. We can't move the subway line."
I hate these greasy bastards. He knows as well as anyone whats going on!

So what?
I'm really not sure I get the problem here. It's the ways baseball goes. Every stadium has its quirks, from funny winds to funny walls to different grass lengths. And teams are free to build teams based on those, because it all offsets in the 81 games you don't play at home.

Pretty much. And sometimes it backfires...Comerica was given the dimensions of a small country to help out the Tigers' pitching staff. It worked, to the extent that the only thing leaving the ballpark was the fans, but as it turned out no amount of outfield grass could make Steve Sparks good, and the sight of Bobby Higginson/Robert Fick trudging back to the fence to pick up a long-still baseball was the third-leading cause of suicide in the Detroit Metro area. So they admitted defeat and moved in the fences.
I think it's great for the Yankees' raw stats, but I don't see it as much of an advantage. Hitting in a bandbox favours the more powerful team over the course of the regular season, yeah...but it also makes every game a little more of a crapshoot, because suddenly every limp-wristed lefty in the league can drop one over the wall in right field. In a short playoff series where you have the better all-around team (and when they're running out some combination of Sabathia/Burnett/Pettitte/Chamberlain with off-days, they figure to be the favourites) that's not something you necessarily want.

**** your asterisk.

Re: New Yankee Stadium = Cheetz
hey look... another HR Record at the new Yankee Stadium. 24 straight games with at least 1 homerun to start the season. MLB record. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
