The Sorry Lebron: King James left the playoffs as a loser

Post#1 » by TonyMontana » Tue Jun 2, 2009 10:01 pm

A very good write up about Classless Lebron.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=a ... &type=lgns

I’m a winner, King James proclaimed. So, there you go. That’s his reason for rushing out of the conference finals without so much as a nod to Dwight Howard(notes) and the Orlando Magic. That’s his reason for marching to the bus and letting the Cleveland Cavaliers’ spare parts take care of his responsibilities in the interview room.

Funny, but James stayed on the court to make sure the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks paid respect to him. As it turns out, there’s one thing allowed to happen at the end of a playoff series: Everyone bows down and kisses the King’s ring. Only, LeBron doesn’t have a ring. He’s never won a game in the NBA Finals.

So, yes, maybe they just have to kiss his feet.

“It’s not being a poor sport or anything like that,” James said.

No, nothing like that. Yes, James cares so much that it isn’t possible to be gracious and humbled.

You know me, he told the reporters in Cleveland on Sunday. I’m a competitor. “If somebody beats you up, you’re not going to congratulate them,” James said. “It doesn’t make sense for me to go over and shake somebody’s hand.”

Here’s the question: Who has the guts to tell him that he sounds like an immature, self-absorbed brat?

we should leave him alone, it's not easy for him, that won't make that right though, however let's forget about that it's not the end of the world

Honestly, I think people are just making a big deal out of it. Hes a very competitive guy, most people like him, deal with losing in a way like what he did.

Shows why Kobe is the classiest player in the Nba.

I'm actually surprised he dragged that squad to a league best record in the regular season. They have no reliable post scoring options and even their perimeter game is pretty shaky with the exception of Mo Williams.

^^you don't think Delonte West can play?? that man right there can do it all, he can shoot, handle the ball, defend, slash, pass, he can even post-up, and he's also a very smart player.

They had a solid squad and they were contenders. Everybody can comeup with lame ass excuses as to why they didnt make it to the finals and lack of talent or supporting cast wasnt one of the reasons the Cavs didnt make it. It was heart and dedication and their heads got to big.

Good one Tony. All there top supporting cast players are "over the hill" or way overrated. It's not like he has two extremely talented big man, a bunch of great shooters, and the best coach in the league. Their role players were overrated on their shooting skills because as they showed, they can't hit them when they count (playoffs). Kobe has Trevor Ariza, who is being left open often and hitting at 48% or whatever. Same shots for Mo Williams were misses...

it tough, we were all over lamar and fisher for taking melo out to dinner in the middle of a series. claiming that bird and magic would have never done anything like this, and everyone is too buddy-buddy in the league today

now when somebody does something along the lines of what players would do back in the 80's we go crazy saying he's a bad sport, and that he needs to be more friendly and stuff

we can't have it both ways i guess

Wow, you gotta be pretty insecure to turn a perfectly serious sentence into a stealth whatever it is.

He's been pretty down to earth and calm the past few years so he has risen among the ranks. When you interview he doesn't seem as arrogant as he once was.

Mo Williams Delonte West Joe Smith Wally Szczerbiak Anderson Varejao Zydrunas Ilgauskas and if you recall this guy (Lebron James) could walk on water and he could carry his team to the promise land on his back with one leg and no arms.

Now all of a sudden the best team with the best record in the league with the COY and the MVP and H.C.A that swept through the E/C playoff until they got to the finals, which most of YOU guys claimed they will probably make it to the finals UNDEFEATED, is now over the hill and overrated.

A very interesting read.

+1 to OP for the find. (I noticed that the link provided more details)

I think what Lebron did was a mistake, he'll probably admit to it later. Who knows, maybe he called up Dwight and apologized.

Dear Lebron James,

Look at Laker footage from the WCF for 1998 and 1999; Shaq, Kobe, and the Lakers loss each time and still had the decency to show sportsmanship.

P.S. I am a witness.

Yours truly, Luxury
