OKC trade for Camby?

Post#1 » by london sonic » Wed Jun 3, 2009 12:13 am

We need a reb/def center well hears one that could come cheap due to clips logjam with their bigs.Camby could just be a year rental but could do a good job.

Clippers plan to keep Griffin and who could blame them.We know that leaves them stuffed with bigs.Randolph seems the hardest to move and would be the simple decision but at what cost.Kaman attracts a lot of interest but would be the best fit next to griffin at center.Deandre Jordan is a cheap prospect and should also be kept. Now we get to Camby well moving him could be the easiest decision as would clear the Center pairing for Kaman and Jordan.

OKC need a center and have expirings galore. The first part of this logjam could be solved with a simple expirings for expirings deal.

OKC trades PG- E.Watson and SG/SF -D Wilkens

CLIPPS trades Center -M Camby

Reasons
number one clears part of logjam for clips and gives them expirings back with Watson a useful back up PG and versatlie D Wilkens.OKC gets a reb/def center they need to mentor Thabeet if drafted or fills a need at center if they draft Harden.

^Camby is a lot better than those players and the Clipps can get a better deal for Camby that this trade.

An easy pass for the Clipps

Well with Baron and ZBO soaking up all that coin this gives the Clippers a chance to add role pieces and still have them expire.

Are the clippers looking to add more long term payroll?
We all know Sterling is the cheapest owner in the league.

I agree that Camby is the better out of the three players but that's not saying much. Camby is really old and has a history of being brittle.

But the Clippers have two back ups PG who are signed to multi year deals. I think that's the biggest reason for the no.

Sure, Camby's value isn't huge. But in that trade we're just throwing them our garbage expiring deals for their expiring deal that belongs to a pretty useful player. No way clipps do it... if we could get Camby with that deal though, sure, I've got no problem with it.
