class act

Post#1 » by kingkobe8 » Wed Jun 3, 2009 10:17 pm

Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O’Neal said on Twitter Wednesday he is rooting for long-time rival Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers to win the National Basketball Association finals against the Orlando Magic.

The finals best-of-seven series starts Thursday.

“I am saying it today and today only, I want Kobe Bryant to get No. 4, spread da word,” O’Neal said referring to what would be Bryant’s fourth NBA championship.

O’Neal and Bryant won three NBA titles with the Lakers and the Suns center won another with the Miami Heat. A feud between Bryant and O’Neal began when they played for the Lakers and continued after O’Neal’s departure.

The Suns did not make the playoffs this season and faces an uncertain off-season in terms of personnel, season ticket renewals and other bottom-line concerns.

Who cares about what Shaq is doing or who he's rooting for, like I could've told you the minute it was the Lakers and Magic.........he's found a way to plug himself in this series as far a media coverage.

I don't know if you know but "has beens" can't let go of needing attention.

Although as a Lakers' fan, I'm happy with his comments, however, Shaq's comments have nothing to do with being a "class act".

It must have taken quite an effort on Shaq's part to let that out.

I have no problem with him rooting for the Lakers. I am sure there some agenda in their mixed with some emotion. He had quite the backlash last year after his "ass taste remix" and on top of that I think he probably wants to retire a Laker.

who is shaq kidding? His change in tone during the allstar break where he was kissing kobe's a$$ at every moment he had and now this? he's obviously trying to find another home. Too bad it's an epic fail, does he really think kobe, cough cough i mean LA... would sign him?

would you guys want him back?

You never know what Shaq's motives are when he opens his mouth.
I'm sure he is partially motivated to get some publicity during the Finals.
Whatever.

Let's go Lakers.

Shaq wants to be a Laker at the end of his career and he should

The dynasty team had cheap talent like Mitch Richmond, Glen Rice and others here...

Shaq and Kobe could still have 7 rings each if it worked out like Magic said that would be crazy cool

Shaq is a great center and even old and slow he is huge. I like a 1-2 punch of him and Bynum like the Shaq Zo 1-2 punch

After Kobe wins w/o Shaq its cool for him to come back so yah

Shaq is rooting Lakers
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Why would this be classy? He played for both teams.

In Shaqs world he would march into the Suns front office and demand a release, be on a plane to los angeles and then walk right into the Laker locker room in his old #34 jersey. Just imagine the look on Kobe and the rest of the teams faces if that were to actually happen. And the reaction the announcer and fans would give when he runs out on the floor with the team at half time. It would be like a movie. Superman Returns.
