If you were Steve Kerr and you traded Shaq for Ben Wallace/Pavlovich and Wallace retired, what would be your next move with no decent Free Agent to play center this year? Let Robin Lopez get heavy minutes and experience? Ship Amare/Nash?
Steve Kyler:
He won;t do that deal... so it;s moot, but Kerr told us in Chicago that they see Lopez as being able to start at center for them in the future, so you read that how you want.
I get the feeling the Bosh and Amare are waiting to see which "winning" clubs they can jump to. Where do you see both ending up?
Steve Kyler:
Amare Stoudemire and Bosh have no say this year... Bosh wants to be in Toronto this season, he was very happy that Truiano got the coaching job and is eager to pick up where they left off...
Amare is a different story... his eye is jacked up... basically there is a very dense fluid that has to either be removed from the eye or allowed to drain on its own, so he basically has to lay down for hours at a time with his head to the side and let it drain naturally... he can not do anything remotely athletic, he'll be in terrible shape when the season rolls around and thats when injury strikes.
What is your take on the Allen/Rondo for Amare/Barboso/#14 trade talk coming out of Phoenix. DO you take it seriously.
Steve Kyler:
The Celtics are not trading Rajon Rondo... thats simply silly... anyone talking about Stoudemire in trade does not understand whats going on with his eye... he should recover, but its scary stuff... until he's on the floor shooting shots, he is damaged good in a major way.
I do think Boston's best trade asset is the ending contract of Ray Allen... but thats not to say he'd return what he provides if you did trade him.
