Tidbits

1. First game thread win of the year! Suck it, WEFFPIM and CV!!!
2. Remember when lasik surgery was supposed to help Bill Hall? LAWLZ
3. On this day in 2002 we beat the Cubs 6-5 on a walk-off single by Alex Sanchez
4. What does Dave Bush hide in his beard? (pictures suggested)
5. Happy birthday to the extremely sexy Bar Refaeli. Screw you, Leo!

Scouting Report

Brewers: Bush gave up two first-inning homers Saturday against Cincinnati, and was removed from the game after four innings in which he allowed five runs on seven hits. He also walked three. Bush will close out a four-game series against the Marlins, who he has a career record of 2-2 against with a 5.62 ERA. Bush earned the win in his last start against Florida, a 5-3 Milwaukee win on May 14. The right-hander gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits while striking out seven in seven innings.

Marlins: The Marlins are 8-3 in Johnson's 11 starts. But one of those loses came the last time the 6-foot-7 right-hander faced the Brewers. On May 14 at Milwaukee, Johnson worked a season-low four innings in a no-decision. He felt some fatigue in his right shoulder, but since then has rebounded nicely. Johnson has had nine quality starts. The right-hander comes off a victory against the Mets at Citi Field in which he gave up two runs in seven innings, walking two and striking out five.

Injury Report

Brewers: Mark DiFelice -- day-to-day (elbow)

Marlins: Renyel Pinto -- 15-day DL (elbow inflammation)

Captain Erv's Thoughts: Well, it wouldn't be the Brewers if they didn't make us sweat a little bit. Handed a 9-1 lead, Braden Looper tried to give it all back. Thankfully, Big Red was up to the task and gave us a strong 3 1/3 IP. Johnson has been stellar this year, but we've beat him at MP earlier this year. Bill Hall homered off of him, but I swear if he is in the lineup today I might strangle Ken Macha. Considering how the first two games went, a split would be seemingly successful. GO BREWERS!

For Good Luck:

I laughed at that when he first said it. Just like the lasik helped Kendall the year before!!!

I must say, I do like the hot birthday girl trend we have starting. I hope nobody minds if I wish one of my personal favorites a happy birthday as well.

That has to be a mistake. Hall against a rightie? Gamel had 2 hits his last start. Macha has really been pissing me off the last week.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Oh Hall is 4-6 against Johnson. I'm sure that will override how sucky he's been.

We need Billy's hot bat in the lineup.

.107/.167/.143 in his last 10 games. .111/.188/.190 in the last month.

.200 is the Mendoza line. What do they call it when you hit around .100?

After tonight he'll be 4-10 against Johnson so the next time we face him Macha will put him in because he's batting .400.

LMAO. True.

It looks to me at this point he's just looking for reasons to keep him in the lineup. "He's 0-1 against this guy? Wait, you said he hit a fly out to the warning track? He needs to play."

Maybe it's something about the managers office at Miller Park. But the longer Macha is here the more Nedley he gets.

When Braun was brought up he was thrown out there every day. He took his lumps in the field but at least we found out third base was not for him and we also found out the guy could hit MLB pitching.

Yeah I'm getting pretty sick of Bill Hall. As far as I'm concerned he barely belongs in the lineup against lefties. Sure he hits better against lefties, but his OBP, at .333, is still awful. Even Adam Heether, our current AAA 3rd baseman, seems like a better option than Hall at this point. I'm sure he could at least crack the mendoza line, a mark Hall is bound to fall below sooner or later.
