If such a trade were possible, would you swap Bynum for Rubio?

A big Yes, if increased to include Farmar (Mem needs a backup PG) and Morrison (expiring) for Darko's(expiring) to help with bigs depth.

WHY? Allows LA to resign *Odom, Ariza and Brown*.

And, Kobe would need to opt out to help the team with 5 yr/100 (17.0/ 18.5/ 20.0/ 21.5/ 23.0)

PGasol (16.4)/Mbenga (.96)/(Darko)
Odom (8.0)/Darko (7.54)/Powell (.96)
Ariza (4.5)/Luke (4.8)/(Kobe)
Kobe (17.0)/Sasha (5.0)/#29 Danny Green? (.83)
Rubio (4.5)/Brown (2.0)/Fisher (5.1)

= A very reasonable $77.6 mil payroll
with Darko, Mbenga, Powell, Fisher expirings

* Odom 3/27 at 8/9/10
* Ariza 5/29 starting at 4.5 escalating like Lukes
* Brown 3/9 at 2/3/4

Bynum could put up negative stats throughout this entire postseason, and I still wouldn't do the trade.

1. Never trade big for small.

2. NEVER TRADE BIG FOR SMALL.

3. Putting this kid in the triangle offense would just take away his greatest strength. Bad fit.

I think it is due to the large number of Gasol fans that want rubio and gasol to play together like in Olympics. okay wait... not marc gasol, but pau gasol
Sasha Vujacic = The Phail Machine = The Ring Blocker

Trade Sasha before he ruins the Lakers next season.

But it isn't possible, so a discussion would have no merit.

No. The Lakers don't need any more teenagers around Kobe and unproven players.

Yes. Like other poster said we can resign Brown, Odom and Ariza. We overpaid Bynum and those 2 major injury's are not positive either. Right now he is playing like regular backup center. It makes me laugh how defensive some Lakers fans are about Bynum. He hasn't done anything to deserve that. I wish we can trade him before his trade value is 0 because of his salary.

I wouldnt like the lakers to trade bynum for anything short of a set superstar, but i would be ecstatic if they did a sign and trade of lamar odom +2 1st round picks for rubio (and fillers).

1 & 2 - Is that a steadfast hard rule of yours? Conversation: "Hey Mitch, this the George Shinn. I need to move Chris Paul... it's a deal if you give us Bynum." Mitch replies, "Sorry George, JellosJigglin says never trade big for small." Then Mitch screams into the phone at Shinn, "NEVER TRADE BIG FOR SMALL" and throws his cell at the wall.

3. His greatest strength? You mean Incredible Passing is not valuable in the triangle. Who knew?

It's ok though... I've moved on to getting Rubio via an Odom trade anywho. Oops. Big 4 small again.

I wouldn't do it. Bigs are hard to come by these days. Bynum just needs to release the beast within. Then we'll see how scared howard would be.
