New Jersey Nets To Select At Number 11 On The 2009 NBA Draft

The one guy who will really benefit from this day is Earl Clark. The Louisville SF stands a shade over 6-10 in shoes with a wingspan just under 7-3.

We knew all along that DeJuan Blair’s ability to dominate the offensive glass wasn’t just because he’s got a big ass. Even if he stands 6-feet, 6.5 inches in shoes, he has a ridiculous 7-2 wingspan. That won’t impact his draft stock drastically either way.

I like Blair but his height really scares me for the #11 pick.

I still go:

Trade up for Harden or Hill, or:

1. James Johnson
2. Terrence Williams
3. Earl Clark
4. DeJuan Blair

Everyone else either shouldn't go as high as 11, or in DeRozan's case you would have to trade up for him and personally, I would only trade up for Harden or Hill.

BTW, I heard some talk from Toronto fans that word is Colangelo is leaning towards taking Terrence Williams at 9.

I hear ya about Blair. It's hard to sell me on using a lottery pick (even in a draft this weak) for a guy who might very well be Jason Maxiell.

We have a 2.9% chance for a top three pick. If we win the top pick, we will have won it with the longest odds (we have the 11th worst odds) in NBA history. Chicago's with 8th worst odds is currently the record.

Ah Dude I think you might be forgetting that a team called Orlando won back to back lottery's and they lost a tie breaker to make the play-offs after shaq's rookie year then went and one the very next lottery and did the penny, cwebb and 95 first round draft picks

Rules back then were different than they are now. Before, it was much more balanced from 1 to the end of lottery. But after Orlando's success (Shaq/CWebb pick) and Charlotte's success (LJ and Zo), the NBA decided to revamp it.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing it again, though perhaps at a smaller odds than what they had before. Before it really gave the feel of a lottery, now it's pretty much the same until you get to the 5th spot or so, where movement really starts to happen.

I only saw him play a couple of times but I really liked his hustle and work ethic. At 21 years of age one of my favorite aspects about Hill is that no aspect of his game is a major liability.

Hill is still a prospect but if he were drafted the training staff wouldn't have to spend 100 hours trying to teach him how to play basic offense (like Boone) or 100 hours trying to basic play defense (S. Williams)... He's also got an ideal PF body-type IMO...
