I'm one of the last people to believe Gambo but he's right this time. Amare is going to be gone by the trade deadline at the latest.

His trade value is pretty low at the moment...
Mostly because he's going to want $130 million over 6 years next summer, but also because he's coming off an injury and some of the comments he's made has got to have GMs weary.

The only reason the Suns would keep Amare is if they're just delusional about their chances of winning a championship. OR: they want to screw OKC and make sure they don't get a Top 3 pick with the unprotected #1 pick the Suns gave them to take Kurt Thomas off their hands.
Other than that, I don't think there's any way the Suns sign him to a contract extension unless it's a sign-and-trade sort of thing. I might be tough to trade him in the offseason, because teams may want to see how he recovers from his eye injury, but yeah, it would seem very likely he's gone at the tradeline, particularly if it still seems he'll opt out.
