OKC Derozan @3?

Post#1 » by the_bruce » Fri Jun 5, 2009 2:18 pm

If OKC is actually thinking of Derozan @3, I think MN would be a great trade partner. Derozan is very probable to fall to us. If they jump on either harden or rubio I think MN has the correct kind of assets to accomodate a swap.

Miller + perkovic rights? + 6(derozan) for Collison + watson + 3(harden or Rubio)

Seems like a lot to pay to move up. Maybe if Rubio is there, but I'd want at least a future 1st too.

I've always prefered Harden over Rubio to be honest. Plus MN can make the all old skool team of

Love + Al + Harden

I'd love to have Harden. He's my clear #3 in the draft, that's just a lot to pay for him. If we could get Green included in the deal somehow, I'm on board 100%

That's a bit too much to move up. I'd do it without the Pekovic rights, though. Maybe add in something else, maybe one of our other picks in this draft.

hmm I'd think that the key part of the trade would be pekovics rights. A Polished Euro center that can come fill the 5 spot in a year or 2 would be great for them.

Maybe something like...

Cards + pekovic rights + 6 for Watson + 3

Maybe we could use the 28th pick and/or our 2nd rounders instead of Pekovic's rights?

don't give up pekovic rights... unless you think harden is an absolute future all-star... which i'm not... watching him play this past year he seemed extremely hesitant at the collegiate level - hes got great potential but im not THAT high on him. im not sure he'll be that much better than several other players that will be available, although it is a consensus that his draft stock is better at this point.

im fine with losing miller in that trade though.

You all love pekovic to much, I blame rev. Pekovic is a replication of Al as far as I'm concerned, he isn't the 3rd big we need for our rotation. We need a long athletic faceup 4, who could play some 3. Earl Clark probably fits the mold of what I want.

I agree with bruceallen. If peck's rights can net us Harden or Rubio, I would jump all over it.

Cards and peck and #6 for Watson and #3 seems pretty decent to me. However, if they just pick him at 3, its more than likely that Thabeet would fall to us at 6....but i'd prefer Harden.

I don't have any trouble with trading Pekovic's rights, I just think that including them, AND Miller, AND the 6 basically just for Harden is way too much value to give from our end. What other ammo would we have to make a trade? Just a couple of smaller expirings.

Like I said before, if we're giving that much, we should try to get Green in the trade and he fits what you said you want in Earl Clark, except that Green is more proven and has as much upside.

Thirded. This trade would be a must-do, in my mind, for anyone who has Harden well above the other guards. Me? I don't really see the separation, but Pek is a small price.

That would be a goood deal if we could get Rubio with the pick. I'm not a Hardin guy up at #3, but would nab him at #6 odviously - and that is a possibility. This draft just is not real defined and I feel jittery about moving up for anyone outside of Griffin or Rubio.

if it's for rubio, sure. for harden...thats too much to give up. we could use the pick on players with just as much promise

If Sam Presti is seriously considering drafting DeRozan at 3 over Harden (and potentially Rubio), that's proof enough for me that DeRozan will be the better pro, and that we should draft him for ourselves.

When you think about it, it might be a better idea. Harden has the higher floor for sure, but OKC already has two players who will be primary ball handlers in Durant and Westbrook. DeRozan will probably be the better defender, and he can definitely work off the ball and hit the occasional jumpber. Plus he will be able to catch oops from Westbrook etc. That would be a really good situation for him. Although I think Thabeet would be the best option for that team.

I'd trade Pek's rights for a bag of Doritos.
